There is a sentence in Eason Chan's lyrics "If you like weirdos, I am actually beautiful". This lyrics came to my mind after I watched "Home Alone" and "Home Alone 2". The two limited Christmas films always make people feel warm in the Christmas atmosphere. So what I want to talk about today is the story of the weird man in the two films and our hero Kevin. The weird man in the first part is vicious and acts strange, so there is a legend about him as a murderer. The children dared not approach him, and even when he was shoveling snow on a snowy day, he would be misunderstood as cleaning up the murder scene. The weird man in the second part is a woman who feeds pigeons, wearing a tattered and heavy black coat in the bustling and cozy square, looking so out of place. When Kevin first saw them, without exception, he felt scared and wanted to run away. The turning point of the first story took place in the church. The weirdo took the initiative to appear and sat next to Kevin, telling him that the rumored story in the town was not true. The turning point of the second story came sooner. Kevin met the second weird man when he shared his food with the pigeons at night. After getting along, Kevin found that they were all ordinary and lovely people. The director used the white and flawless snow and the peace-symbolizing dove to set off the characteristics and environment of these two weirdos, and also showed their kind heart. Seeing this, I can't help thinking about how stereotypes influence our daily interpersonal relationships. A few years ago, when a man was walking in a foreign country with earphones, a black man came to face him. I subconsciously began to be vigilant and try to stay away from him. As I passed by, I smiled politely, and then I heard him as if talking to me. I turned my head and found that I still couldn’t understand, so I took off the headphones to hear clearly, only to hear him say that I have a very Beautiful smile. At that moment I felt a little ashamed. Others were not malicious, but I immediately felt that he might be a bad person. People's stereotypes of a certain group and a certain area are so deep that we always beat everyone to death with one stick. Kevin's innocence makes him accept weirdos faster than others, and this just makes his story warmer. Only he is such a sincere and kind "little ghost" who can lead the audience into these weird people. In both films, after Kevin accepted the weirdos, he said: "Merry Christmas". This may be the only warmth that belongs to "Home Alone". Merry Christmas tonight, everyone. (I am a person who wants to express himself more in words. If you also like literature and movies, I hope you can point out my shortcomings or discuss with me.)
