Some reflections on comedy

I don't watch many comedies, but almost every one I've seen is a classic: Chaplin, Shaun the Zombie, Borat and this Leningrad Cowboy Story.

Summarizing these movies, and comparing some of the comedy movies and variety shows that are very popular in China now, I found that the real pure humor is not reflected by exaggerated physical performances, clumsy or even vulgar gags. Really excellent comedy movies are Built on confrontation with the conflict between the individual and the outside world. In other words, if a comedy movie has the courage to look directly at the absurdity of human nature and the absurdity of the world, and is not afraid to express it in a more deviant way, this movie is close to greatness. This also means that comedy movies are not just for making people laugh, it can trigger the viewer's thinking, and, from the absurdity, find some (people or world) meaning of existence, usually something that warms people's hearts. Warmth is different from blind sensationalism. Warmth is a heavy force, which is fully reflected in this movie. And the embarrassing sensational scenes in many domestic comedies are usually just piles of numb lines, which are very impetuous.

From my limited experience of watching domestic entertainment shows, all the so-called stomach-ache comedy shows and movies, they provide only a kind of physical stimulation. I can't help but laugh crazy after reading it, because this is the body's instinct. But after laughing, it feels very empty, as if laughing just for laughing. This purely physiological vent should have been designed for people to decompress. But many variety shows and movies are not reconciled to this. They are very ambitious and want to do real humor, so they bluntly stuff a sensational piece after the crazy visual stimulation. Not to mention how embarrassing the actor's performance is, these emotional elements are not suitable for the audience who are just looking for fun, (but there may be some people who just eat this set, I don't understand.) On the contrary, it is the opposite. effect. I still believe that only pure things have the power to move people's hearts.

Also, I want to say something about this movie. First of all, the musical elements in it are very rich, starting from Russian folk songs, and as their journey continues, the style is gradually changing. From high latitude to low latitude, this eight-piece band has gradually become a superstar (I say it myself, although the audience can see in the movie that they do not buy their account, but their playing level is first-class, it is undeniable, and in the Musically tolerant. Being able to adapt and learn different styles quickly also shows that they are a very high level band.) Unfortunately, I believe there are a lot of rock music in this movie, but due to I'm ignorant and can't interpret it. Second, of course, are some sharp political metaphors. I don't know this, so I won't say much.
