It's actually really difficult to adapt a classic novel, because there are a thousand Hamlets in the eyes of a thousand people, and if you don't change it a little bit, you will be ridiculed by others. I started watching this TV series because I trusted the director and it was produced by the BBC.
In fact, there are quite a few changes, but they are all within the acceptable range, which can be said to be unexpectedly good. The characters are very detailed, and many of them are well handled.
There are a few scenes that I want to sigh. After the second episode was caught by the police, the part of Jean Valjean and the mayor was really brought in, and I cried while watching it. And in the end Jean Valjean threw his bag into the fire because he thought that someone had taken the blame, and wanted to start a new life, and then a coin fell out, and he thought of the priest, and remembered that an innocent man would replace He died, Jean Valjean was holding this coin, the conscience was tortured and the inner struggle was really impressive to me. This scene was arranged very carefully, and I sighed again.
There are also great actors, in short, it is worth watching, a classic.
