This is a time without dreams

This is an era without dreams, so when I see dreams, I cry.
It is a primordial impulse, an impulse to pay homage to lost ancient rituals.
I saw ancient human beings standing in front of the stone statues, waving sticks in their hands, and murmuring mysterious languages in their mouths. This was the original dream. I'm not in that era, I can only watch it coldly, I'm ashamed, the era I live in has lost my dreams.

His name is Bilal, a refugee from the Kurdish region of Iraq, and he dreams of going to England, where there are people he loves. After the truck smuggling failed, he chose to swim across the English Channel. Perhaps this is the only road the world has given him to the UK. Although the road is narrow, he decided to take the road.

Simon is the only one to lend a helping hand to him on this dream road. When he decided to help him, he threw away what the world dreamed of: a beautiful wife, a safe and secure life. I think I must have seen the shadow of him in this 17-year-old boy, because the dream that I never realized, the dream that I gave up, suddenly appeared in this boy, like a sharp thorn on the soft sofa , which is intolerable to the world. He looked at the trophies he had won and knew what he was going to do. He taught him to swim, brought him home to eat and sleep, quarreled with his neighbors so that the police warned him, and his wife left him. If the Bilal dream was weak at the beginning, then with the help of Simon, Bilal's dream began to grow strong, it was like filling a fish tank with fresh water, the fish began to become active, so much so that they began to Jump up and down.

After the first failed attempt, Bilar worked harder, knowing that the strait ahead was far more difficult than he had imagined. So on the second crossing, he was only 800 meters away from England. At the place where he was about to arrive, the British patrol ship found him again, and he began to swing his hands and feet on the sea to get rid of the huge ship. The splashing spray obscured everything, including my eyes. A picture suddenly appeared in my mind. In an open space with four high walls, a group of vicious adults surrounded a child chasing and beating, just because the child said, I want to be a catcher in the rye. When he knew he couldn't get rid of their pursuit, he chose to sink, sink into the sea, and bury him at the bottom of the sea with his dream. The story is once again an ancient ritual, a ritual that is performed silently on the bottom of the sea far away from society.

There is an intriguing detail at the end of the film. After Bilal died, Simon went to England to find the girl. He found his wife's lost ring and gave it to Bilal. But Bilal fell 800 meters from England. So he chose to continue this unfinished ritual and handed this ring into the girl's hands, an ancient ring with sapphires and diamonds on it, some kind of substitute for ancient love.

She said, I can't wear this ring, I'm getting married in 10 days - the dream ends.

The era I live in.
