I have a strong feeling that the director must be a supporter of the French New Wave. I went to check it out. Sure enough, the director was born in 1920. He is not only a supporter of the French New Wave, but also an initiator. It has been 76 years since the film was made. The first line did not appear until the seventh minute when I was old. A guest called "Margo" (the heroine's name). From this place, the man who was eating in the restaurant met the waiter. The heroine, the endless dialogue begins later. The director's first seven minutes of treatment is to create a "light" atmosphere, to slow down the pace, and there is no story from the beginning to the end. The scene is always the male and female lead actors walking on the road , walking on the beach, walking in Oda, talking non-stop, relying on the lines to support the walk down. The duration of a dialogue is really long enough that people like me who are used to watching art films are not tired of it. I can think of three directors of this style in my knowledge base, Ozu Yasujiro and Hong Shangxiu. And Kaorismaki, but Ozu Yasujiro's "light" is different from Rohmer, Ozu is the taste of saury - a touch of sadness, Kaorismaki highlights alienation, I think Hong Shangxiu and Rohmer are more Like, especially Hong Sang Soo's "Right Now, Wrong Then", but they are different.
