The first season of "Love Dead" a few years ago was very flamboyant, and "Zuma Blue" stood out so amazingly, which made most fans feel that the second season was a bit slippery. At this time, I would like to raise some objections: Can you really beat the first season without "Zuma Blue"? Don't you remember the episodes that were pulled down?
It's just that the level of the second season is more average (even the theme is quite average), and it more firmly implements the positioning of "Love Dead" - using a relatively high technical level to piece together some simple, deja vu sci-fi ideas, come Quench the thirst of sci-fi fans. After all, it is thankful to engage in science fiction without breaking down in today's science fiction movies.
The first episode, "Automated Customer Service," was the worst episode of the season. I want to make a slightly dark WALL-E, but the logic of the main line is very reluctant, and it can only be regarded as a satire. Use this as a start, it is better to put it in the middle and do less damage. Not to mention the clichéd idea of robots becoming menacing, it was surprisingly repeated in the same season.
The second episode of "Ice" tells a story of brotherly love with the concept of strengthening people. The performance of the picture is very good, and it is comparable to the episode of the first season of the robot fox.
The third episode "Assault Squad", or "Super Life Guerrilla", the world view has a blend of "Blade Runner", "Tear Doomsday" and "Dungeon". The theme is a bit too heavy to lift, so simply use death to solve it , not great.
The fourth episode, "Snow in the Desert" (wrong), has a good overall look and feel, and there was an illusion that "the cool feeling that loves a dead machine is finally back". The second time I explored immortality, I didn't find anything. It's worth complaining that at the technical level, the effects of CG kisses and headshots are well done, but why is the scene of people eating so bad? Think about the fact that Kashen's "Avatar" has been re-released for ten years, and "Alita" has been re-released for two years, and the technology will not sink?
The fifth episode "Tall Grass" has a high degree of completion from the picture to the story, but it is also a bluffing little fable, with a feeling of "it wants to say a lot but I just can't get it".
The sixth episode "The Whole House" (the official translation is not good, it should be called "Jingle Bells Scared") is an episode that amazes me. Just like the previous episode, the layout is small, but the execution is extremely in place, and the law of misunderstanding is thoroughly implemented. When David Fincher's failed "Alien 3" can be used to pay tribute, you will know who is the boss of the show.
The seventh episode, "Living Cabin", is not very well translated, so let's pay tribute to David Fincher more thoroughly, and call it "The House Is Invincible". This episode is similar to the first season of Space EVA's broken arm, and I think it's pretty good. It's just that the idea is too old-fashioned, whether it's "Red Planet" or "Black Mirror" or even the first episode of this season, I've watched it all, and I really want to say, "Hurry up and destroy it, I'm tired."
The last eighth episode, "The Drowning Giant," is the most peculiar episode. The original may be good and tasteful, but is it really the right choice to use the most realistic CG in the whole season to make this most imaginary theme? I don't think so, maybe I'm wrong, but after reading it, it didn't leave me with the shock I should have. On the contrary, I recalled the "Zuma Blue" in the first season. If it was done with such a realistic picture, I am afraid it would not be so successful. Elegant things should be done elegantly.
After the evaluation, I still give it four stars, because after all, the skinny camel is bigger than the horse, and the sci-fi taste is so positive. Although it is not innovative, it will not make people regret it. It is a waste of time, just like Coke has no nutrition, but the solution summer.
Regarding the title of this article, it is just a sudden thought of mine. What should brain-hole dramas like "Black Mirror", "Secret No. 9" and "Love Dead" be compared? I think it should be against Junji Ito. "Love Dead" has 26 episodes in two seasons, and I think "Zuma Blue" has a bit of the artistic conception and flavor of Ito Junji's peak short stories.
