As A Companion
after 2005, Rose is the official Mary Sue in the true sense. The useless girl next door travels with the Doctor, takes risks, falls in love, then separates and finally gets back together; Martha is in love with the Doctor. The girl who had a crush on the Doctor at the time; Donna was the best playmate; Amy was the girl who liked the Doctor since childhood, and finally decided that the Doctor was just a good friend; and Clara...
From the beginning, I was not Clara black, when everyone was When Clara was doomed, I still had expectations for this character. Much of this is due to the liking of Clara's upbeat, lively theme music. However, the eighth season developed to Finale Part 1, and Magic successfully completely tossed my favor with Clara.
Clara in seasons 7 and 8 is completely two people, the only feature is that she always has children around her. (Probably this is the only character that the screenwriters have for Clara.) Clara in the seventh season has no obvious character traits at all. Take it out as the main thread of the story, which is equivalent to Bad Wolf who appeared from time to time in the first season, Torchwood in the second season, Mr Saxon/Master who was elusive in the third season, Rose who popped out from time to time in the fourth season, and cracks in the fifth season. , the sixth season of Silence, other than that there is really no way to impress the audience.
Clara's 50th anniversary is slightly better. As a human who has witnessed the doctor's past, she can sense that John Hurt's doctor has not destroyed Galifrey, at least it is reasonable to promote the plot.
In the Christmas special, there was a little bit of a prototype of this strange character in this episode, but after all, it wasn't long and didn't show it in particular. Jenna is a qualified actor, but after all, she is still young, and her mouth is really not suitable for her. The words against the crack are somewhat counter-productive, but in the eighth season, this character's image has really changed drastically.
This episode of Deep Breath could be the beginning of Clara's character breakdown. Originally, the big mystery of Clara's body was solved, and it was a good time to seize the time to establish the character image and get along with the doctor. As a result, the magician overthrew the fact that Clara should have a good understanding of regeneration. The stalk, forcibly makes Clara unable to let go of the fact that the doctor's face is not young. If it weren't for the fact that canon is theoretically impossible to have OOC, there probably really can't be a more OOC plot than this. Although it can be seen that Magicte probably wants to make it easier for the audience to accept 12 through Clara's perspective, it is a bit too much to sacrifice Clara's image and IQ as a character.
Deep Breath's setting for Clara is Control Freak. In fact, Control Freak is just control freak, but the character characterization in the later period has to be said to be too deliberate, except for the episode of Mark Gatiss, which is not very obvious. Basically, every episode of Clara is a bitch (excuse my language here). Image - that's not what I've been promised!
Although there is a label of control freak, Clara's overall character image is still very vague. The plot of the Doctor of Education in Into the Dalek is rather abrupt. (Although in many ways Into the Dalek and the Beast Below are unexpectedly similar, both go into another creature, both have the plot of falling through the tube into a sticky piece of gastric juice/other fluid, both of which the female companion finally came up with The solution) Starting with Care Taker, Clara's handling between Danny and the Doctor is weird. Using an invisible watch to smuggle Danny onto TARDIS is unprecedented. Not only has Rose never done it, but even the Pond couple, who have become father-in-law and mother-in-law, have never brought anyone up. The plot of Kill the moon is also somewhat strange. As a strong character with her own ideas, in the end, it is quite strange to blame the doctor for almost making her make the wrong choice. After that, it's basically the same thing: playing the "you've been with us for so many years/you breathe our air, so don't say you have nothing to do with the earth" card when you want to stand with the doctor, want to make fun of the doctor or not satisfied When you say "you're an alien". The Orient Express accuses the Doctor of forcing her to lie, turns back to TARDIS and calls Danny, then uses Danny as an excuse, and says it's ok, let's continue playing.
I don't know if it's because the screenwriters did it on purpose, or if I don't care about it at all. Clara's new image this season has become cocky and unstable liar for some reason.
The part of Clara Oswald never existed in the Finale trailer has not yet appeared, and now I really think it would be nice if Clara was controlled by the Master or a non-human created by the Master, at least it can fill the loopholes with such a strange and unstable personality. .
Relationship with Danny Pink
girlfriends with their own boyfriends is nothing new, but the relationship between Clara and Danny isn't as easy to accept as it's been on a few previous occasions.
Rose and Mickey knew from the beginning that they would break up. At least Rose apologized very seriously after Mickey was misunderstood.
Rory knew about the Doctor from the beginning, but soon in Amy's Choice, we knew how important Rory was to Amy.
But Clara's relationship with Danny is basically Sarcastic and insensitive throughout. Whether it was deliberately joking about killing people or not during dinner with Danny, the joke about digging a well afterwards was completely unnecessary. In the Care Taker, Clara pointed out that the Doctor was mysterious, turned her face and lied casually to deceive Danny. From the audience's point of view, we are all sure that Clara will be with Danny, and Clara knows that, after all, she met Orson Pink, who should be her and Danny's grandson. Perhaps that's why Clara couldn't accept losing Danny at all, and even prepared to coerce the Doctor, but the eighth season's portrayal of the relationship between Clara and Danny was basically that Clara knew that Danny would be with her, so she told a little lie in the middle (especially Flatline ), it doesn't matter.
It is estimated that only Magic can explain how the relationship between Clara and Danny developed. After meeting the doctor, Rose completely abandoned Mickey. Amy and Rory were childhood sweethearts (in fact, Rose and Mickey seemed to be too), and they had already developed to get married when the doctor was away. These are at least normal, but the relationship between Clara and Danny Emotions are not enough.
Clara made all kinds of sarcasm to Danny when she was Dinner, and then she basically didn't care about telling little lies to Danny at all. As long as the doctor was basically there, she could ignore Danny directly; Danny was very good to Clara, but she couldn't tell what happened to Danny. Like Clara, I can't see how the relationship between Rory and Amy developed in Dark Water.
In Dark Water, Clara says to Danny I have to be with Danny Pink. These words are so similar to what Amy said when he was about to leave in Angels take Mahattan, I will be with Rory, like I should be, and the original tears were completely wiped out in contrast.
It's a pity that
as an Impossible girl, Clara, who knows everything about the doctor's past and what each doctor has experienced, should have been a good female companion. She can understand the doctor's thoughts and difficulties, and can help the doctor. It should be very considerate. At least it could have evolved into a relationship between Donna and the Doctor, but in order to pursue the theme of the contradiction between personal life and TARDIS life, the characters that should have been written are beyond recognition.
