Collective lying is a hard thing

I have always liked BBC's mini-series, and the quality is always guaranteed. Just click on one and it will look beautiful no matter what the plot is.

I started watching this drama by accident at first, mainly attracted by the deserted atmosphere of the cover, and I always liked the stories that happened in the countryside, because there was an open scenery to enjoy.

I watched two episodes in one go, and I was blown away. There are many characters, and everyone seems to have their own little secrets hidden behind them. Everyone seems to have a motive for murder, except for Claire, who has always advocated calling the police. Even the female police officer in charge of investigating this case has a dedicated line to write her little secrets.

I knew from the introduction that it was a four-episode mini-series, and I was thinking of writing the script at the time. The two lines were going on at the same time, how to fill this big hole. I finally watched episodes 3 and 4 today. Because of the inconsistency in the confessions, the detective became suspicious. Because Jamie sent an email to the police station, he further verified the detective's conjecture and quickly found the body.

At this point, it is still impossible to guess who is the real culprit. Although Rob admits that it is him, he only suspects that his wife has murdered, so he is the best. Although I always thought he might be the murderer in the early stage, after all, he quietly canceled the ambulance and found the murder weapon in his room.

In the end, because Claire found clues, the veil was lifted little by little, and the case quickly came to light. The layers of fog in front of it disappeared in an instant, and the ending was unbearable. The biggest feeling is not to mess with extramarital affairs, let alone have children after finishing it, and pass on your mistakes to the next generation.

As for the character of Adam's father, I don't understand why he appeared, and then he died soon, just to emphasize his cowardly character?

Jamie, the key advancing character of the case, is also an incomplete character. When the homeless man was killed, the Bill family first ran to ask him if he did it, which implies that Jamie must have done something before, but there is no related plot in the follow-up.

And Jamie just because he knew from Claire that Rob might be the murderer, he had the courage to expose the other party like the police. If he is such a righteous person, shouldn't he call the police when he finds a homeless person on the first day? Or call the police when you know the homeless person is dead?

Bill was the greatest tragic. The wife cheated, and more than once, the daughter was not his own. Burdened with emotional frustration and moral pressure, his only son was unsatisfactory, and he was seriously ill.

The homeless man who drove into the farm, the screenwriter finally did not give a reason why he had to come, but it was precisely because of his presence that the story unfolded.

The female police detective's line is much simpler and clearer, without too much suspense, but I didn't expect that the last partner would let her go. But the remarks at the airport were very moving, and the police are not omnipotent.
