At 12 we had lollipops and they had cold guns. .

Salvador civil war, 12-year-olds were forced to be taken into the army. Then, as a young soldier, go and kill your own countrymen.
The executioner was only a child at the age of being instigated to do cruel things.
The war came so violently and suddenly, the front line would suddenly appear in the village or in the school.
People seemed so helpless, playing the piano and singing in the rain of gunfire.
In China, this must have been called fearlessness.
But in fact it is just the opposite. When people are extremely fearless and helpless, when any human effort does not work, people will do some useless seemingly romantic and brave things. .

12 years old with lollipops in their hands and cold guns in their hands. .
children at war. .
Finding death so close to people. .
The kind of real feeling that I have never had~

3 episodes that are still fresh in my memory:
1. An 11-year-old watched as his little neighbor girl was hit by a stray bullet and died in his arms.
What kind of panic and pain is this? ! (Can't sleep for a week when he saw the scene of killing fish when he was a child)
Then he lay down, completely ignoring the intensification of the war outside, listening to the piano and singing with his uncle. .

2. The four children put their hands on their heads, facing the stream, with their backs to the executioner (also a child).
Pistols against their little heads, their heads are so small! all cry! But the bullet still fired. .
The two children fell to the ground! !
When it came time to resist Chave, the salvadores came! ! The guerrillas and the army under the command of the United States fight! !
Chave instinctively sided with the guerrillas.
Always a kid who didn't shoot at the executioner who was not a few years older than him.

If people are allowed to choose freely, instead of instigating and imposing, people will love the national guerrillas ~
no one will be the executioner under the instigation of the Americans ~

3. Chave's mother was a strong woman.
Always be with the children, not one less.
She firmly believes that her children will not be swallowed up by the war, and it is precisely because of this persistence that the
fierce war did not separate the Chave family:)
The school fought fiercely, and she ventured all the way to find Chave; after transferring the children and the villagers to a safe place,
Venture back to the original house full of gunpowder smoke and
find the lost Chave.
