The reason for watching this movie is that I saw a push related to this movie on a certain psychological public account. I didn't read it in detail, but I thought this movie would be more or less related to healing. In addition, Jane Lili's good night time push a while ago briefly described the way of watching film and television works as a way of alternatively experiencing emotions as a healing method. So I decided to watch this movie.
I cried a few times, to be precise in several parts of the movie that made me feel like I was the protagonist David, experiencing ups and downs on his journey to find trust and safety. The film tells the story of David, a child who grew up in a Bulgarian labor camp, because he could not stand the hopeless oppression in the camp, and decided to escape from the labor camp and finally arrived in Denmark to find his biological mother. During the journey, David encountered many arrests and betrayals, but also encountered beautiful things and kind strangers that he had never met in the concentration camp. He slowly tried to open his heart to outsiders. Although he went through untold hardships, he finally succeeded in reshaping some tragic memories of the past. It turned out that the people in the labor camp were not inhuman, but the long-term hopeless environment made people forget For those kind and warm moments.
Along the way, David's mother's book appeared several times as a clue. The first few times were only a slight glimpse. The last time, when David opened his heart to Grandma Sophie, he really learned the content of the book and found that the author of the book was his mother. It turned out that the clue left by his mother was close at hand, but he did not have the curiosity or energy to see it.
The episode that impressed me the most was David saying goodbye to Maria, the little girl he saved from fire in the middle of the night, he gave Maria the most precious amulet that blessed him and said to the Virgin that he didn't need the Virgin's blessing, he didn't deserve it Good things, but Maria deserves it, he left the best to her. Betrayed and exhausted, David still has love wishes. It can be said that Maria's unreserved love has taught David that kindness and love exist, and he has learned some ability to love, even if he can't trust Maria's parents. I also hope to give Maria what she can do in return.
