Love heals

As if once we remember, we can be healed? It's as simple as that.

What is touching in the film is the last treatment between the psychiatrist and Eve, with eyes full of love, like a father.

"Do you like Jane?"
"I like her very much"
"Do you like her more than me?"
"I like you the most"
"Then will you go on a date with me?"
"The doctor can't date a patient, it's against the rules."
"What if you weren't my doctor?"
"As long as you want"

"Do you remember that red dress?"
"How could I not like it?"

"I remember the first time I saw you. You were the first to recognize it. My, the first person to know me...do you like that red dress?"
"I really do." And

Ms. Black left with such love and approval.

The Three Faces of Eve quotes

  • Eve Black: She know all about what I do?

    Dr. Luther: mm-hmm

    [nods]

    Eve Black: She tell you?

Dr. Luther: When I ask her.

Eve Black: Like about that sergeant?

Dr. Luther: Yes, she told me about that.

Eve Black: There! You see, that's what I mean having somebody runnin' all the time tellin' on you.

Dr. Luther: You tell me about Mrs. White, don't you?

Eve Black: Yeah, but she don't do anything.

  • Dr. Luther: It's a serious manifestation, the hearing of voices, but the difference in your case is this: You've been frightened by this voice because you recognize it as a symptom of illness. People who are actually losing their minds rarely find anything extraordinary about the hearing of voices. They almost invariably assume it's some sort of extra privilege that they enjoy... like personal radio reception, or built- in radar.

Eve White: Yeah, but what if sometimes it sounds like my own voice?

Dr. Luther: Your own voice? Doesn't make any difference.
