Swearing is a very serious matter in Hindu mythology. Just like the curse that exists, it cannot be said easily.
The most oath in the Mahabharata is that the son of the blessed body king, Tiano, in front of Zhenxin, swears by the Ganges River, announcing that he will never marry a wife, have no children, and will not be king, and will be loyal to the throne of the object city.
The prince in the original book said, "From now on I will practice the holy life, ... but the immortal world in the sky will be mine." And the oath was fulfilled, and the gods appeared and scattered flowers, praising his sacrifice and virtue. In the 13th edition of the TV series, the sky and the earth flashed with discoloration and thunder, as if shocked by this terrible oath. From then on people called him bheeshma, the one who made terrible vows.
Just like Wen Zhong in Fengshen Romance's Biography of the Immortal Realm, this desperate insistence to the end ironically became a cold joke. It is in vain that it is difficult to have an opponent in the world. Love makes people blind, but kindness makes people weak. Because of these, they become cocoons and go on step by step, but they get deeper and deeper and harder to turn back. When they come to an end, only destruction can end all this suffering.
bheeshma is not afraid of death, but he is afraid of his oath and responsibility. So not only could he not be able to stop the civil war of the Kulu tribe, but he also had to add a lot to this bloody storm.
I always feel that Bishma has high expectations for human nature every time he makes a choice. It seems unreliable to expect others to be highly enlightened. It's like he handed over the throne to someone, but he didn't think that his future boss might be a bastard.
Whenever the dynasties change, there are always a few people like Bhishma who are doing their best, but they are powerless to stop everything from slipping into chaos and darkness. Because they are the guardians of the royal power, not the masters of the court, how the head of the family wants to ruin his world can only watch with grief, and they are trapped in their own identity and powerless.
The hands of bheeshma were also stained with the sinful blood from the throne.
And all wrongs, all sins, all curses, end on the arrow bed.
A god, a man, and a kshatriya.
A little personal gossip while watching the show, lol.
