Watching "A Quiet Life", the male protagonist may find people or relatives for the deceased living alone, learn about his preferences during his lifetime through their photos and other people's descriptions, and write a eulogy for them. If he could not find relatives related to the deceased, he would hold funerals for them alone and bury them. It was such a kind person who told him that he had been laid off after 22 years of doing this job. Because the unit felt that he was slow to close the case every time, and also chose an expensive burial. Because of being laid off, may has one last case to resolve. It was this last case that allowed viewers to see how May has handled his case over the past 22 years. And through this, we can feel that the male protagonist may is like a god. He cares about everyone who has come to this world, no matter what the deceased was in his lifetime, after the deceased left, the male protagonist may has always given them the greatest dignity. Because he knows that a moment of life is life after all. But he was still lonely, and he was worried that he, like every deceased person who no one knew, would eventually leave this world alone. So at the beginning of the movie, he would lie in the grave and imagine his own death. But at the end of the movie, the audience's mood is down from the height to the end, and slowly warmed from the saddest place.
Btw, originally I thought this film was mainly about loneliness, the ultimate destination of life, it does talk about loneliness, but it also talks about giving and humanistic care.
