necessary killing

Muhammad, an Afghan, was rounded up by the US military after he killed 3 Americans in a self-rescue attempt. During the escape, he was shot and deaf, became a prisoner of American terrorists, and was taken to prison to be subjected to various punishments. He narrowly escaped when he was moved to somewhere in Eastern Europe. In order to survive, he personally killed two American soldiers and began to flee in the vast forest and snow. In the process, he also knifed a military dog and robbed the military uniform of the dead US military. For a native Afghan who had not received the so-called Western-style education, he could not tell the difference between American soldiers and other local white people, so he killed another lumberjack in order to escape. The first thing to flee in an uninhabited forest is to survive, but the white snow is not a novelty in Muhammad's eyes at this time, but a lifeless despair. He had to eat ants, then pick unknown fruits, and get poisoned; if stealing fish from anglers to feed his hunger was a struggle for survival; then taking a gun for the milk of a newborn baby's mother was something he was ashamed of. Severely wounded and lacking nutrition, he was desperate in the forest, but a kind deaf and mute peasant woman took him in for a short time. Bandaged him, changed clothes, gave him food, and finally gave him a horse as a means of transportation. But all this failed to change his fate - to die alone. . .

Putting aside politics, the film only explores the means by which ordinary people can protect themselves when their lives are threatened, so the necessary killings occur. There is no hatred, no prejudice, no difference in political beliefs, only the instinctive desire to survive. However, in the snow-capped uninhabited forest, at this moment, people are not beautiful but despair. In order to survive, it seems that there is no other way than killing and robbing.

This film is definitely an alternative in the movie. There is hardly a serious line in 90 minutes. The performance of the plot depends entirely on the expressions and actions of the actors, which is a huge test for acting skills. The original sound effects, shaking tracking cameras, and real performances let us see the strong survival instinct of ordinary people. Some people may think that the film is dull, but I think it is a very worthwhile film.
