The film is based on the award-winning novel "Aniara" by Nobel Prize winner Harry Mattinson. I also don’t know whether to call it a novel or a collection of poems, because the whole book is written in poetry, a science fiction story that is linked one by one. So the original book itself is very difficult to understand (don't try to read it below Swedish 2, your head hurts), but the advantage is that everyone will have their own different interpretations, which leaves more room for the adaptation of the movie.
The film itself has very typical strong Nordic film characteristics: unpretentious protagonist casting, ambiguous gender and sexual orientation, human contradictions under crisis response, torture of human characteristics, undisguised naked pictures, hope and despair. complex interlacing.
As an ultra-low-budget sci-fi movie (2000W Krona, about 1400W RMB), the directors very skillfully describe the daily physiological and psychological needs of humans as mortals, which makes people feel that it is not so far away. But it is also very good to connect people's daily life with the space background according to the changes in people's psychological reactions. Unlike "Silence" and "High Life", which must be labeled as SI-FI, in fact, the promotion of the storyline has nothing to do with science fiction space.
In order to be dramatic, the movie still gave everyone a little hope at the beginning, but there is no hint of hope in the original book, and it has been extremely dark since the problem. . . .
Regarding the MIMA system, in the original book MIMA is the AI that controls the entire spacecraft, and finally it chose to commit suicide when it heard that the earth was gone. In the film, the human beings were given a little more drama, and MIMA became more of a symbol of nature.
Although many typical Nordic human nature innuendos and discussions in the film have also been labeled as literary and sci-fi films, I have to say that although the film does not have a lot of hard technology colors, the logic is very clear, and nothing appears to create an atmosphere of despair. logic bug. Obviously, this is not a sci-fi for children, but a movie that makes people desperate and hopeful. I personally think it is a very successful and smart adaptation of the original movie.
