When the water is clear, there are no fish

A bit of an incomprehensible movie.

The teenager escaped the hypocritical and rigid dogma of his parents and found the horse, but after finding that he was not "pure" enough, he could only kill the god/horse, and fell into chaos in order to escape without a way out. The doctor takes it as his duty to save the child, but he finds that he is not so pure and selfish.

It can only be said that painful torment is not for the vast majority of people to sharpen the road to redemption, but more likely to lead to the abyss of extreme and cynical hatred.

Don't worship the education of suffering, and don't impose high standards and demands on yourself and others.

We are just human beings and should not expect to be gods. The way to seek God may lead to a snake's nest. (Perhaps heaven and hell are the same place, but most of them are limited by their own bodies when they arrive, and most of what they see is the realm of hell. It is not a problem that can be solved by changing thinking from another angle. The difference is rooted in the individual itself, from the soul overall decision)

Is it because the alienated god is a kind of cage? When you pursue a specific standard/god, it is precisely when you are abandoned by "God", because you deny yourself and can no longer be satisfied with your original self. From then on, you embark on a struggle between the ideal me and the actual me. The road of no return is getting more and more painful. The farther the standard/god is from the self, the closer to the hell of karma. (But on the other hand, if a person is satisfied with himself under any circumstances, he will be close to God? For example, a happy murderer? Satan? This kind of original proposition is really justified and unreasonable...)

(I feel more and more that sometimes the descendants of cultural improvement are more and more sensitive and vulnerable, and they have higher and higher expectations of themselves, and at the same time, they have higher and higher requirements for the people around them - parents, teachers, doctors, children, partners... , raised each other to a near-sacred standard. But the truth is that 99.99 people are destined to fail to meet so many requirements from the initial physiological and psychological basis. They are easy to get sick, vulnerable to collapse, and easy to vent their anger... We should hope for a new Should we go back to the Garden of Eden? We should still keep our feet on the ground, and at the same time, helplessly face up to the fact that this world can only be a mortal human being. Be a good person and be good to yourself. If you let go of yourself and others, the world will not be better and it will be very bad. The difficulty is worse.) (But is this really good? Human beings are, after all, a species that "must do something to try to change", and a sense of crisis of sailing against the current is deeply ingrained in the subconscious. Impossible, we are burdened with what may be called the original sin Things are destined to have no long-term peace, and they have to keep swaying in desire and exploration all their lives, like a tumbler. The truth is that they can't stop...)

Equus quotes

  • Martin Dysart: Mr. Strang, exactly how informed would you judge your son to be about sex?

    Frank Strang: I don't know.

Martin Dysart: You didn't actually instruct him yourself?

Frank Strang: Not in so many words. No.

Martin Dysart: Did you Mrs. Strang?

Dora Strang: Well, I spoke a little. Yes. I had to.

Martin Dysart: What sort of things did you tell him? I'm sorry if this is embarrassing.

Dora Strang: I told him the biological facts. But, I also told him what I believed. That sex is not just a biological matter; but, a spiritual one as well. If God willed, he would fall in love one day. Sugar? That his task was to prepare himself for the most important happening of his life. And after that, if he was lucky, he would come to know a higher love still.

  • Frank Strang: Don't you be la-de-da with me, young man!
