It turns out that I had to surrender again to House's screenwriters.
Too know how to tease the audience, how to change moves, never repeat.
If you haven't watched this first episode, can you imagine the following scenarios happening in House: House finally loses the mind game; House is in love, albeit short-lived but very sincere; House and his mania Rap with his sick roommate, and finally embraced; House really learned to behave, and the truth was not revealed in the end, it turned out to be a conspiracy - you can even see his very clear eyes...
Writing this, I suddenly understand that this Just a movie. All the dramatic conflicts are perfectly resolved, and all the contradictions are touchingly resolved. Away from the little ducks, beautiful deans, incurable diseases and TV series ideas, house has a perfect solo flight. The first half can be seen as a humorous version of "Flying Over the Cuckoo's Nest", and the second half is the afterglow of Soul Catcher.
No doubt House will still be back. There is no doubt about the changing and unchanging routines of TV dramas: who wants to see a House who is no longer playing tricks and is honest and well-behaved? How difficult it is for us to serve, we hope that constant changes in character relationships and fresh conflicts create continuity and suspense for a series, but we can't see the slightest change in the iconic characters of our favorite characters.
But at least this episode, we saw another possibility, another kind of brilliance. Hugh Laurie's acting is so convincing that, in fact, House may already be one of the most characterful monuments in television history.
