The opening film of the 33rd Toronto International Film Festival.
Based on the true story of World War I. The film tells the unfortunate encounter of a pair of lovers during the world-shaking Battle of Passchener. The historical Battle of Passchener broke out on July 31, 1917, and lasted until November 6. The two sides, Britain and Germany, experienced a tug-of-war for more than four months. The British hoped to capture the Belgian Passchener in order to destroy the German submarine base there. As a result, during the offensive and defensive, thousands of soldiers were killed-325,000 Allied casualties and 260,000 German casualties.
