love in war

I downloaded a version with more than 6 o'clock G. I thought it was a big scene and a very intense movie. Who knows, such war movies let me down again. Many war films now no longer focus on the war itself, and the love story behind it often becomes the main line of the story.
Really can't imagine the love in the movie. After knowing each other for so long, are you willing to go to the battlefield that was extremely tired for her? In the fierce battle of others, can the two of them "fight" beside them? Knowing that she would die like this, did she rush to save her brother? I'm so confused about this kind of love, is it possible? The reality is cruel, at least such love will not happen in today's society. Are today's people selfish, or are the people of the past great? The heroine once said something like this, a heartbeat can make her fall in love. Because of the heartbeat, so pay for it, is this really true?
There are many illogical places in the movie, and the depiction of the early stage of the battlefield is also lacking.
However, I still recommend this movie.
1, the rendering of human nature. Rendering human nature on the battlefield, the biggest contrast. The moment when the commanders on both sides nodded, the moment of the ceasefire, human nature was brought to the fore. It turns out that it is rare to be able to talk about human nature on the battlefield. Just like insisting on freedom in a non-free country, how difficult it is.
2. The stele at the end of the film not only makes people lament the ruthlessness of the war again. The First World War itself was disgraceful, but how many people were innocently killed and how many people lost their lives because of it. War may be far away from our lives, but just like this, we need to cherish the precious days now. Do what you want to do.

Passchendaele quotes

  • Sarah Mann: [about her brother's enlistment] Dunne didn't recruit him?

Cassie Walker: No. He barely had anything to do with it. It was the other man, the British one.

  • Nursing Matron: [Dunne doesn't know Nurse Mann's name] It's Sarah. Her name is Sarah.
