big hat, small plot

To make this movie with a big name really makes people feel deceived. This movie reminds me of something like "The Burning Years" I watched in college, of course, it's not as good as the Burning Years. The plot inside is very unoriginal:
1. It once again described the feeling: During World War I, many people in North America wanted to patriotically participate in the war, and then a small number of people seemed to be wise and anti-war.
2. People of German descent have seen a lot of complicated feelings (actually not complicated) on the enemy side of their ancestors.
3. Take a few scenes showing the cruelty of war. It's a pity it's too short, it doesn't please the fans of war movies, and the whole battle scene is quite inexplicable. How did the 60 people keep it? Incredible
other more, not one by one described.
However, when I came to write this brief record, I thought of a very interesting thing, which is the complex complex of Canadians to participate in World War I.
First of all, they constantly criticize the cruelty and meaninglessness of the war, as well as the senseless patriotism. The tone of the whole plot is the disgust for the support of war in the society at that time.
Secondly, between the lines of the subtitles, it reveals the complacent fun of the Canadians participating in the First World War, such as the Canadians won, the British did not hold, the Canadians held, the Canadians left, the position was quickly lost, etc. Small dialogues like that, small subtitles.
