(Personal opinion, rational communication is welcome;)
I've always had a bit of an opinion about Godzilla. Who is the best American or Japanese? This answer is definitely inevitable - in Godzilla, the Japanese are good at the cultural core, and the Americans are good at the appearance packaging, so in fact, it is not unreasonable for the Americans to always take pictures so badly. In fact, it is not difficult to understand why this is the case. In connection with the background of Godzilla's birth, we can also understand why the Godzilla understood by Americans and Japanese is different.
—————A brief comment on the film itself————
Old virtual.
I was thrilled to see the name associated with Godzilla. The quality of independent animation works scripted by Xu Yuanxuan is generally considerable. For example, "Paradise Pursuit" a few years ago. And this project followed the ruffian's "New Godzilla", almost a carnival for all G fans.
Abandoning the huge world view set by the story, the texture of the animation itself is remarkable. The storyboard also has occasional highlights, basically satisfying the atmosphere of a disaster theme. What impressed me especially the protagonist's use of the camera after he encountered the little Godzilla in a roundabout way of driving out of the cabin. The tail of the aircraft with a mechanical sense was wrapped in purple flames. After the camera followed the protagonist in the air, it was finally revealed in the camera. With a huge monster and a powerful momentum, this is a brave person's perspective on Godzilla. There's a lot more than that, including, of course, all that Godzilla played at the end.
Compared with the ruffian Godzilla, in fact, this is similar to the portrayal of the two Godzillas. The contrast of the image is formed by the slow movement and the huge destructive power. However, in "New Godzilla", Godzilla's evolution process was used to gradually pile up the audience's fear, while Godzilla in "Monster Planet" appeared directly, which is a little thin in comparison. After all, Lao Xu G is a new pit to a certain extent, and a little foreshadowing is always good, right?
In terms of character setting, Lao Xu is still playing the same game, throwing a character with simple and firm ideals into a world with chaotic values, and then using several tragedies to complete the character's disillusionment (Chesi Changshou Zhu Xiaoyuan Shaye is behind you. queuing up first). This set may make people who come into contact with Lao Xu's works for the first time cry (for example, I watched FZ back then), but if you watch too much, you will really feel that his playwriting techniques are single, like a man who can cut four axes. Cheng Yaojin cut off the axe at the last end every time.
I like Lao Xu very much, but he didn't surprise me this time, but fortunately he didn't frighten me. There are two more episodes to come, and I'm still looking forward to it. Especially the mechanical Godzilla, it is a little surprise. Of course, I still hope that in addition to the storyline, Lao Xu can tell this Godzilla a little flowery, or does it mean that there is no bad taste, and Lao Xu is paralyzed?
For G fans, this is actually very recommended, but those who come here will be disappointed. The last person the male protagonist met was...... Attila? The king is here, calm down! Godzilla is not a bad civilization! ! !
Back to the distinction between American and Japanese works. So in the final analysis, just like you let a person bitten by a poisonous snake and a person who let a poisonous snake bite someone, and you shoot a clip of a poisonous snake biting a person, the things you shoot must be different. The one who released the snake was excited, and the one who was bitten slapped a word—fear.
