The number of words in the short review is limited, and it is not enough to express my preference for this movie.
Before watching At Middleton-2013
, I had no expectations. It was probably the kind of silly comedy where the male protagonist will fall in love with the female protagonist, and their children will be together. To put it simply, it is another age version of "One Fine Day-1996". The combination of Andy Garcia and Vera Farmiga is not inferior to George Clooney and Michelle Pfeiffer in terms of pedigree and appearance. Maybe the reputation and word of mouth are less, anyway, they are still young. What about Taissa Farmiga Plus Youth Campus.
After watching it, it completely exceeded my expectations. The three main lines completely conquered me: vocabulary, drama, and love.
Vocabulary
mother-daughter (the Farmiga sisters are really similar in appearance, the younger sister babyfat's face is pinched by the elder sister, it becomes the intimacy between mother and daughter) Playing word games in the car, the word "feckless" starts from here and is implanted in the film in the character's "Word of the Day". It's like an infectious disease of funny words, I use to describe you, you use to describe the next person or thing, so feckless has become the key word of this day.
After that, we saw that this one "feckless" and "dingleberry" broke out in different populations, and even when Vera heard Andy's last name Hartman, he immediately thought that the other party's occupation was heart-man, a cardiologist.
Later, we also see that Taissa only cares about Dr. Roland Emerson, the linguistics professor in Middleton, and he is also one of the most important considerations in her choice of school.
The play
is on the campus bench, and the bored Andy and Vera play a lot of American movie games, guessing the situation of strangers. In a similar scenario, I've been particularly partial to the wild Emily Blunt and the restrained Colin Firth in "Arthur Newman-2012" in recent years, who play both introverted and crazy (and of course they end up in love).
This part is the integration of drama and life in the movie. Anyone who has taken drama classes knows that drama is not so profound and mysterious. Drama is actually life, that is, role-playing based on one's own life experience, and it is an impromptu training. Relaxing and having fun.
Andy Garcia showed the meaning of a drama to life in "City Island-2009".
Vera Farmiga also had a play in "Henry's Crime-2010".
This time, with two chairs and a table, they immediately rose up in front of the stinky little brat.
In fact, they didn't act well enough in this section, the acting was too tight, and even a little inexplicable. But why isn't this an interesting attempt?
Looking at the whole love
, there is actually love everywhere on the Middleton campus, peeps in the library, peeps on the clock tower, and peeps in the projection room.
It's "Les parapluies de Cherbourg-1964" in the screening room! So many love movies, but it is this one. 20-year-old Catherine Deneuve, a little monotonous repetition of the same melody, the war in Algeria (and this plot just corresponds to Andy's nonsense love story on the clock tower).
In the end, they all silently got into the car driven by their children and left.
fruitless love.
Naughty words, dramas that have nothing to do with life, fruitless love; these are all external, no matter how many ripples, life is still the same.
