Dare to discriminate against me, I will eat you!
Where there are people there is discrimination and prejudice, intentional or not.
The movie "The Third Wave" also tells a story about discrimination. But this time it was the zombies who were discriminated against.
The story takes place in Ireland, Europe. A zombie virus called "Lost" has swept across Europe, and the sick will go crazy and bite when they see anyone.
But now that the disease is under control, humans have developed an antidote, but it is still ineffective for 25% of infected people.
The recovered patients return to society in batches, and they are called "recovered". The protagonists Sainan and Connor are one of them.
It is not easy for the recovered to return to normal life. First of all, they themselves still remember what happened during the illness, which always haunts them in the form of nightmares.
Secondly, many cured people are not accepted by their families, and there are not a few people who oppose the cured people in society. There are anti-cured people organizations everywhere.
At the same time, the government is planning to weed out infected people who cannot recover.
But the female doctor who developed the antidote believes that as long as she is given time and resources, the last 25% of infected people can be cured. The most important thing is that her lover is also an infected person, which gives Connor an opportunity.
Sai Nan returned to his sister-in-law's house and was assigned to work at the CDC. As the female doctor's assistant, everything went smoothly.
But Connor was not so lucky. First, he was kicked out of the house by his father, and then he was unable to resume his previous job as a lawyer and was reduced to a cleaner.
So Connor's anger came from it, and evil thoughts were born. Encourage dissatisfied recovered people, plan terrorist attacks, and use the position of female doctor to release a large number of infected people.
What is depressing is that Connor is always holding on to Sai Nan, first deceiving Sai Nan to join the healed organization under the banner of his good, and then angering Sai Nan's family, and finally threatening to become angry.
It turned out that when the virus broke out, Sai Nan and his brother who were rushing home were attacked by zombies. Sai Nan was unfortunately infected, and he killed his brother out of control.
The bystander was Connor, who infected Sai Nan. The most terrifying thing is that the infected can communicate with each other, and Connor can control others.
This shows how dark Connor's heart is.
After the infected were released, the calm town was once again thrown into chaos.
At this time, the doctor found that her lover was cured, and she came to her lover alone in ecstasy.
And it also verified the iron law that happiness is only three seconds in the movie. The doctor was killed by the infected person who rushed over, leaving his lover empty and sad.
At the same time, Sai Nan's nephew was also infected. Saying goodbye to his sister-in-law, he carried the child to the suburbs. The movie is over.
As a small-budget sci-fi thriller, this movie obviously abandoned the big scenes of traditional zombie movies, and instead found a relatively novel story angle. Avoid the causes and processes of viral infection, and focus the story on a world after the virus is under control.
And aside from the shell of the movie, the director is also hinting to us that this kind of thing happens everywhere in real life. We have discrimination and prejudice against others because of differences in appearance, region, accent, concept, etc. Isn’t this what happens around us every day?
All in all, this movie has a fresh angle, a messy plot, flat characters and a bad ending.
Finally, human beings are created equal, please be kind to others, or you may be eaten.
