For most Chinese people and even people on earth, comrades are still a relatively obscure or invisible existence (the curtains in the two protagonists' homes are never drawn as a metaphor in the play).
Regardless of what society thinks of them, the whole show has a family factor that binds them from start to finish. From the beginning to the end, Stuart's mother has always been a constant obstacle throughout the whole time.
