1. Somewhere on the Texas border.
valley. The peaks and peaks on both sides stand steeply and steeply.
Jagged rocks.
Among the rocks, a huge woman's head stone stands silently.
The blood-like setting sun dipped this mystical valley into a rose color.
[Voiceover] In the scorching, barren mountains of Texas, the weather-beaten boulder stands majestically. The Indians call it the woman's head stone. Years cannot change its appearance. One can't forget what happened there - a pair of fanatical Luan people once found heaven and hell in the shadows of this rock.
When the sun sets and the cool wind blows across the desert, some Indians often talk about the Pearl girl from afar and the cynical outlaw.
Their last tryst was here, and since then they have left the world forever. [Overlay: Caixia supports a crystal and holy mountain lotus blooming in the empty valley]
[Voiceover] Pearl is like a wild flower growing in solid soil, blooming and withering in a hurry.
[Music starts]

2. [Mountain lotus flower turns into Pearl's dancing posture]
[Camera opens] In the evening. The entrance to the casino.
A charming girl dressed in Indian costume-Pearl was dancing happily. A pair of water-like eyes, radiant.
The children laughed and applauded rhythmically.
Bill came hurriedly, he was Pearl's mother's lover.
Bill [with malicious intent]: Well, a mother has a daughter, and I think I like the daughter better.
Bill smirked and wanted to rapper's hand. Pearl hurried away.
Pearl [indignantly] Don't touch me! I'm going to call daddy!
Bill: The man who married an Indian, I think he's really lucky. Hehe...
Piel squeezed into the casino with a frivolous smile.
Pearl suddenly leaned over to pick up a stone and threw it angrily towards the back of Pearl.

3. Inside the casino.
[Music turns stronger] The crowd is crowded.
A flamboyant Indian woman on the heart of the stage -- Pearl's mother dances a Spanish dance.
The melody is fast and the dance is rough.
Bill squeezed to the front of the stage and looked at the stage frivolously.

4. A corner of the casino.
The lights are dim. Thick smoke filled the room. Chavey was sitting around the poker table with a few white men.
Player One: I'll add fifty more, Mr. Chavey.
Chavey spoke to the smoking man beside him.
Chavey: Do you mind? The smell of smoke... I can't stand it.
Chavey took out his handkerchief and covered his nose, hiding his glance towards the stage.
Player 1; [hehe laughs] You are a very respectable person.
Card Player B: [points to the stage] In my opinion, his wife is a little disrespectful.
[Camera movement] On the stage, Indian women lifted their long skirts from time to time and made seductive dance poses.
Under the stage, people were full of voices and whistles. Men's hats were thrown into the air. The slutty Indian woman suddenly fired a shot to add to the fun. Bill screamed and pulled her into his arms for a long kiss.
[Camera shift] In front of the card table, Cha Wei looked at him with stern eyes, and stood up while holding back the anger in his heart.
Player C: Stop playing, Chavey?
Chavey [pretending to be calm]: Yes, you won't understand, there's going to be a big tragedy.

5. The night sky. Starry.
Night shrouded an inn.
The Indian woman walked out of the casino next to Bill, and the two walked into the inn whispering.
Outside the inn, Pearl, who looked uneasy, stood quietly.
The window lights flickered, and Pearl saw the shadow of her mother and Pearl embracing in the window.
At this moment, Cha Wei came over with no expression on his face.
Pearl seemed to realize something and hurried forward to stop his father.
Pearl: Dad, will you take me to the Pleigh Hotel? I've never been there.
Chavey: You can't go. What are you doing outside at this time?
Pearl: [grievedly] I...I'm just dancing and having fun.
Chavey didn't say a word, took Pearl into his arms, and an unusual father-daughter bond came to his heart.
Chavey: [moistened eye circles] It's my fault. Children, it is the fault of the father. Go home first, I'll go back.
Chavey hurried to the inn.
Pearl thought, staring uneasily at the window.
Suddenly, a heartbreaking scream came out.
Pearl's eyes widened.
The window mirrored the disheveled figure of the mother again.
Mother: No: Chavey, don't shoot!
Bill: Don't... don't shoot, Chavey, don't shoot!
"Bang!" Gunshots cut through the silence.
Bill groaned and fell at Chavey's feet.
Mother: Chavey, my husband, I beg you, don't...
"Bang!"...
The mother's figure leaned down by the window.
Pearl shuddered, tears of grief clouding her vision.

6. Courts.
Chavey: [Facing the judge] I'm not asking for a commutation. They should have died long ago, and so did I. I have killed someone higher than them, and that was... myself. I ruined myself the day I married this woman. I think I should be punished. I beg to hang me.

7. Night. prison.
Under the bars, Chaweiser shrank in a corner.
Pearl, who came to say goodbye, threw himself into his father's arms. Chavey pressed his face to Pearl's head, wiped the tears from Pearl's cheeks, and took out a well-preserved letter.
Chavey: Here's a letter from Laura Bell. She's my cousin, but to me it's so much more than that. I fell in love with her for many years, and I am surprised that she fell in love with me too.
Pearl looked surprised.
Chavey: [Laughs] Don't look at me like that. At that time I was beautiful, but I had a bad temper, very bad. Maybe... because of this... a good girl who could have been your mother decided to marry a very rich Yankee.
Chavey was immersed in memories of the past. He closed his eyes slightly, clasping Pearl's hand. Pearl wept mournfully on his father's knees.
Warden: [Outside the iron gate] Come on, Chavey, there's only five minutes left.
Pearl suddenly got up and threw himself at the iron gate.
Pearl, [pounding on the iron door] No! Do not! You can't do this! no! no! I do not agree!
Chavey: Well that's the end of it, Pearl. Your mother and I will not affect you anymore. Laura Bell wants you to come to her, she will love you like a mother.
Pearl: Oh! Do not! Do not! You can't leave me! cannot!
Pearl hugged his father's head.
Chavey kissed her hair affectionately.
Chavey: You've been a good boy, Pearl. You're cute and decent, now you're going to prove that you're strong, you're going to do it for me, okay?
Pearl sobbed.
Chavey took off his scarf slowly.
Chavey: Here you go, take it. Save this scarf and wear it around it often.
Pearl kissed the scarf sadly.
Warden [in front of the iron gate]: Let her go, Chavey.
Chavey: We're running out of time, it's all up to Laura Bell. Let her teach you. She will make you the noble girl I expected. promise me.
Pearl [with tears in his throat]: I promise.
Pearl got up and kissed his father one last time. Under the urging of the prison officer, he walked out reluctantly.
Chawei watched his daughter with a gloomy expression.
Warden: Are you ready, Chavey?
Chavey got up and looked out the window. There is dawn outside the window.
Feixia is like brocade, and the clouds are like smoke.

8. A few days later.
In the morning light, a well-decorated carriage galloped along the avenue.

9. A small town in the north.
Noisy market. The shops along the street bring life to the town.
The carriage stopped in front of a grocery store. The door opened and Pearl walked out with the package. She was wearing a black Indian dress. A sturdy straw hat covered her pretty face. A handsome young man approached, Jesse McCanras, who had been waiting here for a long time.
Jesse: [in a tentative tone] Oh, may I ask your name?
Pearl's arrogant gaze.
Pearl: It's none of your business.
Jesse: [laughs] I'm sorry. Oh, I want to ask....
Pearl rolled his eyes and glanced at him.
Pearl: [coldly] I don't talk to strangers.
Pearl walked down the street.
The stalls are full of quaint handicrafts.
Jesse: That's a good rule. But... can you just answer one sentence?
Jesse followed behind Pearl.
Pearl: Ah, what's the matter?
Jesse: Have you seen a southern girl in a carriage?
Pearl: No.
Jesse: Haven't you met such a person?
Pearl: You said only one answer.
Jesse: [walks in front of Pearl] Yes, but I have a reason to ask...
Pearl: You go away from me. [Absolutely] I understand men like you.
Pearl turned and walked away.

10. Inside a store on the street.
Lawyer Smoot sat in the corner. Jesse walked in angrily.
Jesse: [to Smoot] Why didn't they make it clear which wagon they put her on?
Smoot: Don't worry, Jesse. When she comes, I will drive her to the ranch.
Jesse: Thank you. Be careful, she's a well-bred southern kid. She must be hungry now, probably crying.
Smoot: I'll give her milk and take care of her.
Jesse walked out of the store.

11. Street surface.
Pearl, hungry and tired, sat in front of the store nibbling on apples.
Jesse glanced at her and walked away.
Smoot chased out of the store as if he remembered something.
Smoot: [shouting] Jesse, say hello to your dad! Say hello to Laura Bell!
Pearl was startled, and immediately threw the apple away and chased after Jesse.
Pearl: Hello! Wait a minute! Wait a minute!
That arrogant demeanor disappeared completely.
Jesse stopped and looked back at her in surprise.
Pearl: [pantingly] Wait! Do you know Laura Bell?
Jesse ignored it on purpose, and hurried away with her head held high. Pearl followed.
Pearl: [eagerly] I said, do you know Laura Bell?
Jesse: It's none of your business.
Pearl: It does matter!
Jesse: I don't talk to strangers.
Pearl's face was crimson, and his eyes were slightly apologetic.
Pearl: [Pleasantly] Just... just one sentence, okay?
Jesse, whose pride seemed to be satisfied, looked at Pearl's stern face.
Jesse: [playfully] Okay, one sentence. remember! Just one sentence. I know girls like you.
Pearl: [angrily and ashamed] How dare you talk like that?
Jesse: Pearl!
Pearl: [shocked] How do you know my name?
Jesse kept silent, walked over to a carriage and threw Pearl's package into the carriage without a word, and then helped Pearl to the carriage.
Pearl: [stunned] Who are you?
Jesse: My mother can't come to pick you up, I'm here for her. I am the son of Laura Bell, the eldest Jesse.
Jesse's reins fluttered, and the carriage galloped.

12. Wilderness.
The sunlight scatters in strands through the floating clouds, coating the vast field with a golden layer.
The carriage galloped down the avenue. Pearl in the car smiled cheerfully from time to time.
Jesse: I didn't recognize you just now, Pearl. It's probably your clothes that confused me. [suddenly slurred] Oh, don't get me wrong, your clothes are beautiful.
Pearl: Is it?
Jessie: Yes, very chic. No. I like to see you in brightly colored clothes.
Pearl: Is it green? I also have a green one.
Jessie: Green and yellow are fine.
Pearl: Yellow?
Jesse: Hmm.
Pearl: I've got a nice yellow one right now, which I'll wear right now.
Pearl hurriedly opened the package.
Jesse: [hurriedly] Oh, no… no, Pearl. Save it for tomorrow.
Pearl's infatuated gaze.
Ahead is an endless pasture.
Jesse reined in the horse's head in front of a boundary stone inscribed with an H.
Jesse: That's it. This is the boundary marker—Little Spain, the Maccanras Empire with one million acres of land.
Pearl: [looks strangely] Empire? Isn't this Texas?
Jesse: Yes. But the senator doesn't think so. You see, all of his stuff is stamped with that logo.
Jesse pointed his whip at the fender under the hood, and a huge H caught the eye.
Jesse: [thoughtfully] the same goes for his son, my brother and I are actually the Senator's most beloved possessions.
Jesse's gaze rested on the pair of riding boots with the "H" logo on his feet.
Pearl: Is your brother as good as you are?
Jessie: [laughs] The girls in town think he's better than me.
Jesse said, shaking the reins with both hands, and the horse galloped forward.

13. Pastoral areas.
A vibrant scene.
On the fertile grassland, herds of cows grazing leisurely, and the white sheep like clouds rest under the lush trees.
In the carriage, Pearl leaned forward and breathed in the refreshing fragrance, fascinated by the vast and magnificent scenery.
A tall and gorgeous two-story building.
The carriage drove towards the building.
Jesse: This is the McCanras family home. arrive! You will be happy, Pearl.

14.
A servant quickly opened the gate of the house. The carriage rushes in.
In front of the door, Qi Xi restrained the carriage.
Laura Bell ran down from the balcony, panting to greet her, hugging Pearl excitedly and kissing her affectionately.
Although it was the first time, Pearl felt a kind of heartfelt relief. In the chat, Pearl looked at this kind woman carefully: (Under the dry eyelashes, a pair of hazel eyes are embedded in the deep eye sockets. It can be seen that she was a beautiful woman when she was young. Now, the seductive luster has been lost to the sight of a gentle, slightly dull light.) Pearl seemed to feel a faint mournful look on her pale round face.
Laura Bell took Pearl up and walked into the hall. The aging Senator appeared at the door in a wheelchair.
Senator [eyelid opening slightly]: Ah, who?
Laura Bell: It's Pearl Chavey, our cousin. We took her here to live.
Senator's unhappy face.
Senator: She's not my cousin, she's Chavey's daughter, right?
Laura Bell: Yes, his daughter.
Senator: [sulking] Then why didn't you say that?
The Senator gave Pearl a cold look.
Pearl avoided the elusive glance in embarrassment.
Senator: [sarcastically] What is the girl wearing? Is that what the Indians there wear this season? Haha...
The teasing laughter made Pearl even more embarrassed. Seeing this, Laura Bell suddenly took Pearl's arm and walked along the corridor.
Laura Bell, come, dear, look at your bedroom.
Pearl: He doesn't want me here?
Laura Bell: [with the land] Oh, never mind, he doesn't mean anything else. ...since...he fell off his horse...
Pearl: What?
Laura Bell: It's a long story, it's an unpleasant thing. [Yuton]...I wanted to arrange a better room for you and talk to the senator later.
The courtyard on the side of the corridor.
[Off-screen] Rapid hooves.
The courtyard door opened, and a suave young man rode in.
Pearl couldn't help staring at the unruly young man.
Laura Bell: [hurriedly] Root, this is Pearl. [to Pearl] This is my young son Root.
Pearl: [politely] Nice to meet you, Root.
Root: [looking lightly] Nice to meet you, Pearl.
Laura Bell: Ah, Pearl, you'll get to know each other more often in the future. [Walks to Pearl's arm]
Root: [arrogantly] Of course. oh! what!
A playful smile appeared on the corner of his mouth.

15. Night. Laura Bell's guest room.
The furnishings are luxurious and elegant.
Soft colored light hits the sophisticated ceiling and then refracts, giving the entire living room a sweet and cozy feel.
At the piano, Laura Bell played and sang an old love song.
Pearl was wearing his father's red plaid scarf around his waist, walking lightly, watching everything in the room.
Washtai, the black maid, came in with a medicine pot and placed the medicine lightly on the table.
WASTETE: [in a pompous voice] Mrs. McKinsey, can I get married?
Laura Bell: [drinking medicine] But Washtai, who are you going to marry?
WASTETE: Well, I can't tell who it is, ma'am. I just thought, I'd better get married.
Laura Bell: Of course, Washtai. You can get married anytime.
WASTETE: [with a deep bow] Thank you, ma'am, I'm not in a hurry. [Turns around and goes out]
Laura Bell: [laughs dumbly] This Washtai wants to get married, but he doesn't know who to marry yet, there's really no way.
Laura Bell sat wearily on the sofa.
Laura Bell: Sit down, Pearl. So glad your dad entrusted you to me. You must now learn to behave like a lady. Ah, Chavey's daughter, of course Miss.
Pearl: [sits down] I'm a good boy, my lord.
Laura Bell, of course a good boy, dear. But... ah... you're the only girl here, no one will blame you if you get closer to anyone. Like Root...he's very charming.
Pearl: I think Jesse is better than him.
Laura Bell: You don't know Root. Of course, he's a bit headstrong, but that's what's so lovely about Westerners. Senators do the same. So when he hears about your dad... [busily diverts the conversation]. oh! Jesse always complains about me talking about the past.
Pearl: [childishly] I hope Jesse likes me.
Laura Bell: He's going to leave us sooner or later. He came back from law school, and I saw it. Oh, I'm so selfish. If it wasn't for me, he would have left home long ago. [Drinking medicine] My eldest son is so good, he has made a lot of changes in my life.
Laura Bell walked over to the piano happily, pressing the keys skillfully. Pop a sweet serenade.
Pearl mused, leaning beside Laura Bell. Suddenly, she hugged Laura Bell's shoulder.
Pearl: I'm going to be a good boy, ma'am. I think I can definitely do it. I want to be like you, that's my dad's wish.
Laura Bell: [looks sadly] Neither your dad nor I have been happy. Child, I hope you are happy.
Pearl's eyes were wet, and he suddenly took Laura Bell's hand and kissed wildly.
Laura Bell: Ah, boy, stop this. Oh, have you heard this waltz?
Laura Bell plays the Wiener Waltz.
Off-screen, the senator roared and watched: Can't you play that nasty game?
The sound of the piano stopped abruptly.

16. Downstairs in the Senator's living room.
The senator, who was playing chess with Root, scowled.
Root: You win, Dad.
Senator: [Indifferently] I see, I can only escape the voice by hiding.
Root: I think so too, Dad. [burning smoke, about to come out]
Senator: It sucks to live with that Indian girl.
Root: [smokes a cigarette] Ah, not necessarily, she's pretty in my opinion.
Senator: Is it? I do not think so. For women I still like us Caucasians.
Root: [pacing] Do you remember the last time I went to Abilene? I was very tired after driving the animals all day, so I just wanted to relax...
Senator: [knows the meaning] Ah, didn't you drop by the casino to play?
Root: [laughs] How do you know about this?
Senator: [smiles slightly] Just wired them a check for $1,600 yesterday.
Root: [embarrassed] Oh, I lost that time because I drank a bit more...
Senator: [waves hand] It's okay, Root. Guys can play sometimes, otherwise what do you want money for?
Root: [brows and smiles] Senator, I hope I can be like you in the future.
Senator: [Dotingly] Ah, Root. The thing I dislike most about you is that your poker is so bad, you're not a good player. Go, child.
Root went away happily.

17. At the stairs.
Pearl left Laura Bell's room and went downstairs with the light on. She walked lightly, lest she disturb the senator downstairs. Unexpectedly, the senator took a nap at the entrance of the stairs in a wheelchair.
Pearl stopped timidly.
Senator: [contemptuously] Girl, what's your name Pearl?
Pearl: [frozen] I don't know, sir.
Senator: [scoffing] Pearl means pearls, and you're not as white as pearls. Should have given you an Indian name. Just call you Minno haha, am I right?
The Senator stared at Pearl, who was blushing.
Pearl: [eyes drop] Ah...yes...
Senator: Alright, Minno, go for it! [sneering and moving the wheelchair]
Bo Er left silently.

18. Outside Jesse's room.
Pearl walked past with a lantern in his hand.
Jesse: [seeing Pearl's back and getting up to the door] Pearl, what's the matter, not happy? Don't you like us here?
Pearl: Ah, if only they were like you.
Jesse: If everyone was like me, the world would be too boring.
Pearl: [Unintelligible] What does that mean, Jesse?
Jesse leaned against the door and stroked Pearl's hair lightly.
Jessie: Don't think so much about your little brain.
Pearl: [excitedly] I want to learn, Jesse! Can you teach me? Your mother said that you are a lawyer, and I want to be a first-class person, as knowledgeable as your mother.
Jesse: [with a wry smile] You want to imitate my mother, but she is not happy.
Jesse lit a cigarette and took a deep breath. A smoke ring floated in front of Pearl's eyes.
Pearl stared thoughtfully at the floating smoke ring. Suddenly, she grabbed Jesse's hand.
Pearl: I should learn this.
Jesse: What?
Pearl: [Childishly] Spit this circle, can you try it? [Wanting to grab a cigarette] Let me try.
Jessie: [smiles lightly] Oh, no, no. Pearl, ah... cultured women don't smoke.
Pearl looked disappointed.
Pearl: You don't want to teach me, do you? you don't like me anymore?
Jessie: Of course I like it. There will be many men in the future who want to teach you.
Pearl's heart surged, a kind of reverent and sincere love welled up in her heart. The budding desire made her lift her face and bring her lips to Jesse's, expecting Jesse to kiss her.
Facing Pearl's stupid behavior, Jesse was stunned, thought for a moment, and turned his face away.
Jesse: I think you should go to bed, be a good boy. Talk about your studies later.
Pearl lowered his head shyly, suppressed the pain in his heart, said good night softly, and left.

19. In front of Root's room.
Pearl was walking in a hurry, and suddenly found a figure leaning outside the door. Pearl raised the lamp and looked closely, only to see Root staring at him with a smile. Pelton felt awkward. He said good night softly and walked to his room with his head down.

20. Inside Pearl's room.
Furnishings are shabby and tidy.
Pearl was about to turn off the lights and go to sleep, when the door was pushed open and Root stepped in, his eyes blazing hot and dazzling.
Pearl stood up in surprise.
Suddenly, Root hugged Pearl and kissed wildly. Pearl struggled to break free, grabbing Root's hair with both hands.
Pearl: What are you going to do? I hate you! I hate you!
Root let go of Pearl suddenly, panting.
Root: Don't pretend you haven't done it with anyone.
Pearl: [angrily] No! No one! No one is like this!
Root hesitated, and his eyes fell on an elegantly decorated mirror frame on the dresser. Inside is a portrait of Pearl's father.
Root: [contemptuously] Oh, drink! It turned out that the half of the white was left by him.
Root cast a sneering sidelong glance at Pearl and opened the door.
Root: [pretending to be polite] Oh! I forgot to say good night, miss.
Pearl rushed to the door angrily.
Root hurriedly stepped out the door and closed the door abruptly.
Pearl spat angrily at the door.

21. The next day. storage room.
Pearl was distraught, checking the items with the ledger, while Wastey beside him pointed incessantly.
Root outside the door shouted: Vastel! Call Miss Pearl here!
WASTEY: Miss Pearl...
Pearl: [disgusted] I heard you say I'm not good at it!
Vaste: [Don't dare to talk to Root] Why don't you tell me, I have to go to work!
Pearl hesitated for a moment, closed the account book, and walked to the door calmly, squinting Root with a proud air.

22. Outside the storage room.
Root led the horse towards Pearl.
Root: [smiles] I think you might like to watch circuses.
Root took off his hat and threw it on the ground. The horse seemed to understand his master's intention, and lowered his head to take the hat to his master.
Root: [Satisfied] Pearl, look at this little guy.
Facing Root's show off, Pearl sneered and turned back to the house with a snort.
At this moment, Jesse is driving.
Jesse: Hey, Root! Aren't you going to chase livestock today?
Root: [holding back the fire] You'd better go about your business and mind my own business.
Jesse: [sharply] You have to be polite. If not insulting you, I have some advice.
Root: [arrogantly] Well, just mention it.
Jessie: [looks at the pantry] Why do you keep pestering her? As long as she is guided well, she will become very educated.
Root: [sneeringly] What's the matter with you, Judge? Give her a stab in the ear and it's yours?
Root jumped on the horse's back, clenched his legs, and galloped away.

23. Storage room.
Pearl, who was keeping an account, heard a horse neighing outside the door, and couldn't help but turn his head. He saw Root in the courtyard bowing his waist and legs, and a horse lowered its head and burrowed into his crotch. Suddenly, the horse's head was raised, and Root was lifted up.
Pelton thought it was funny, and sat by the door to watch the splendid show. [The camera moves to the outside]
Root made a gesture when he saw Pearl looking at him, and the horse turned twice in the air against him. Pearl was surprised.
Root: [to the horse] Come, let me introduce you to a lady.
Root led the horse to Pearl.
Root: [pats the horse's head] Salute to her, Daz!
The horse bowed its head respectfully.
Pearl couldn't help petting Daz.
Root: [Tsuma] What do you think of my friend, Daz?
Dazs raised his head obediently, moved his mouth to Root's ear and hissed. Root listened with a smile, nodding his head witty.
Root: [pretentiously] Oh! oh! Yeah?
Pearl smirked.
Pearl: Is that what you taught it?
Root: [stroking the horse's mane] It's all, these are... it's got a lot more tricks! Would you like to try it on?
Pearl: [surprised] Let me ride? Are you kidding me?
Root: Can you ride without a saddle?
Pearl: [excitedly] Of course.
Root: All right, let me see.
Pearl hesitated.
Pearl: [covering himself] Ah, I can show you, but I still have something to do!
After all, he slipped into the house without looking back.
Root: [smirks] Yeah] If you don't dare, I won't force it.
Root rolled over.
Suddenly, Pearl ran out of the house, akimbo, "Root!"
Root: [Unexpectedly] Huh?
Pearl: [tough tone] Come down!
Root: [doubtful] Dare to ride?
Pearl was silent and walked straight to Dazs. Rejoicing, Root led the horse to Pearl.
Facing the tall Dazed, Pearl was a little apprehensive. She grabbed the horse's mane and jumped desperately towards the horse's back. With only a "thump" sound, Pearl slanted and rolled to the ground. Daz, who was standing with his head bowed, still nibbled at the grass on the ground as if nothing had happened. Pearl's face flushed crimson. Not to be outdone, she crouched down and was about to try again. Unexpectedly, Root stepped forward, put her hands together, and put her on the horse. Pearl gripped the horse's mane in horror.
Root: [slaps his ponytail] Come on, Dazs! run!
Immediately, Dazed raised his front hooves and charged forward frantically with his head held high.
Root: [chuckles loudly] Open the door!
Before he finished speaking, Daz had already rushed to the gate of the fence and jumped over without waiting for the gate to open. Pearl screamed and nearly fell. Rutbe-like, suddenly jumped on a horse, and quickly chased after him.

24.
Pearl on the field on horseback. Dazs ran away.
[The camera pulls away] Root's horse came fast, chasing after him.
On the vast field, two or four galloping horses are one after the other.

25. Pastoral areas with lush vegetation.
Suddenly, Daz, who was running wildly, jumped into the air and threw Pearl down with a neigh.
Pearl crouched in the thick grass. Root arrived quickly.
Root: [anxiously] Pearl! Pearl! Are you okay, Pearl?
Pearl's eyes twitched slightly, as if he had woken up from a dream.
Root: [turns to laugh] What are you bragging about, you've never ridden a horse without a saddle, have you?
Pearl: I...I didn't say I rode.
Pearl propped himself up.
Root: You have the guts, Pearl. But a bit silly.
Pearl: [with pain] You shouldn't have frightened it when I got on the horse.
Root: No, no, it won't be frightened.
Pearl was about to get up, but Root pulled her up.
Root: [laughs] You'd better take the pony-cart. Maybe you and I are not the same type of people.
Pearl: I don't think so.
Pearl stroked Dax's long mane.
Pearl: [Lovingly] Will you let me ride a few more times in the future?
Root: [briefly] Yes, of course.
Perl pressed his face to Daz's body with delight.
Root, I'll give it to you.
Pearl: [eyes light up] For me? Are you kidding me?
Root watched the hopeful look on Pearl's face.
Root: [sarcastically] Oh, ah! I guess you want to ride with Jesse. Although he can't even tell the difference between a variegated horse and a maroon horse.
Pearl: No, I like it. [To Daz] You like me too, don't you? [kissing Daz] Ah, don't fall on me again.

26. Wilderness.
On the way home, Root and Pearl marched side by side.
Root: Hey, Pearl! Would you like to ride to Samp after dinner?
Pearl: [squinting eyes] Where?
Root: Behind the mysterious canyon. The water there is cool and clear.
Pearl: [Can't help but startled] You mean go swimming, go together?
Root: I'll bring the guitar and play songs for you.
Pearl: [stunned] Are you crazy?
Root: The moon at night is beautiful.
Pearl: [Displeased] Trying to buy me a horse?
Root couldn't help laughing.
Root: I'll wait for you after dinner. Waiting for you outside under the clock.
Pearl: [Definitely] I'm not going. I dont go! don't go!

27. Dusk. Senator's living room.
A faded table is placed in the corner of the living room. In front of the stage, Jesse leisurely played billiards. In the easy chair in the middle of the living room, Laura Bell was knitting serenely. Only Senator frowned on the news in the newspaper. Suddenly, the senator waved the paper.
Senator: Listen to the nonsense. Say something! [Reading] "Some small ranchers will benefit a lot when the new railroad is built." These ignorant guys get some fences and destroy the ground!
Facing his father's roar, Jesse walked over to ask for it with disapproval.
Senator: Hey, Jesse: There's something you don't know yet. Those measuring people are not small, they came to us with binoculars. I almost miss the new foreman, Kins.
Jesse: [coldly] You can't do that, Senator.
Senator: Why?
Jesse: It wasn't Kings who let those people in.
Senator: [Confidently] No one else has the guts.
Jesse: [bluntly] I let them in.
Jesse was pacing with a calm demeanor.
The senator froze for a moment, then slapped the table and shouted in anger.
Senator: [eyes wide open] Are you really crazy?
Startled Laura Bell, who was sitting next to her, she stood up and stared at Jesse uneasily.
Jesse: I'm not crazy. I think it's better to work with them. There are great advantages to laying on the rails.
Senator: Bonus! what is the benefit!
Laura Bell stepped forward to divert the conversation.
Laura Bell: It's a bit cold, isn't it...
Jesse ignored it, looking at his father's stern face and arguing with reason.
Jesse: Railroads keep traffic flowing. The small town of "Heavenly Ping" can be turned into a big town. instead of...
Senator: But this railroad can also bring a lot of immigrants from the north, and they're going to vote and pay taxes here.
Jessie: [can't help laughing] This is your ranch and I just wanted to help you.
Jesse turned to leave.
Senator: Hey, Jesse! One day this ranch - "Little Spain" is going to belong to you and Root, and I don't understand why you don't...
Jesse: Senator, I understand your kindness to me. You have always been generous to us. If you weren't so generous, Root probably wouldn't be the way it is now.
Senator: [Unhappy] Root? What's wrong with Root?
Jesse: You are obedient to him.
Senator: [eyes slanted] I don't understand.
Jesse: I hope someone in the McKinsey family can contribute to this state, not just take it. [pulls the door open] Good night, sir. [Going out]
The Senator was pale, his lips trembling. Staring at Laura Bell.
Senator: [indignantly] Your son, ma'am!
Laura Bell, [proudly] Yes, Senator.

28. Evening. Outside the Senator's living room.
There was silence all around.
The frosty moonlight paints the building silvery white.
On one side of the corridor, Jesse stood silently, looking like he was watching the moon or thinking about something.
Suddenly, a figure came from the other end of the corridor.
Jesse: Who is it?
Pearl approached.
Jessie: Hello! Pearl. The night is so beautiful, would you like to take a walk?
Pearl: [hesitatingly] It's too late... I, I'd better go to bed.
Jesse felt a little strange, and Pearl looked as if he had something on his mind.
Jesse: So where did you want to go just now?
Pell : Oh...I...
Pearl, hesitant to say anything, sat on the lounge chair on the porch.
Suddenly there was a soft chorus of singing, and Jesse looked away.
[The camera moves with the eyes] Under the moonlight, a hazy figure leaned against the wooden fence under the bell in the courtyard, stroking the guitar, and sang softly: "There should be someone I love, I should find one..."
Jesse glanced at Pearl involuntarily.
Pearl: Oh... Probably Root sang it.
Jesse: [appreciatively] Must be Root. He's the best serenade singer in the area.
For a moment, Pearl stood up abruptly as if stabbed by something.
Pearl: I don't care if he is! Him and his broken guitar! Because he gave me a horse! I know why, he doesn't try to coax me!
Jesse couldn't help laughing, searching keenly in Pearl's childish eyes.
Jesse: Ah, so, so you didn't want to go to him... eh?
Pearl: [Sincerely] I, I really don't want to go to him, Jesse. It's true, I don't want to go. Just because I feel so stuffy, I...
Jessie: I get it.
Pearl! You... are you still willing to take a walk with me?
Jessie: [Laughs] Why not, and Root's charming music.

29. Same time as above. Front yard.
Jesse and Pearl walked side by side.
Root, who was sitting under the clock, watched in amazement while holding the piano, and suddenly stood up and left.

30. A few days later. Liege. Racecourse.
The ranch worker Sid drove the horses on the endless field. Suddenly, a majestic horse turned and neighed toward the other end. Seeing this, West Germany hurriedly threw the whip away. Unexpectedly, the horses galloped away like a reversal of rapids.
Suddenly, a man came at a gallop and stopped the leading horse abruptly. Sid saw that it was Root who staunchly restrained the head horse's neck.
Syd: [happily] Thank you. You are a wonderful shepherd.
Root: [points to the horses] Hey, Sid, see that burgundy horse? It seems to be lame, don't let it run away.
Sid nodded in agreement.
In the distance, a young girl crouched down on her horse and galloped in the direction of Samp in a sassy manner.
Sid: [looks blankly] This man seems to be going for a swim. Naive hot.
Root: [hurriedly] See you later, West Germany.
Sid: Where are you going, sir?
Root: [impatiently] I have something to do.
Root chased after Pearl's back without looking back.

31. Sump Canyon.
Jagged rocks. Green spring.
[Lens pan] The spring water flowing down the stone is poured into a natural pond.
The pond is surrounded by green and shaded fields, and the reeds and grass are lush. In the clear waves, Pearl took a bath happily.
Dazed guards were waiting on the shore.
[Off-screen] The rapid sound of hooves from far to near.
With a clear whistle, Root appeared on the rock.
Root: [hee hee laughs] Good afternoon, Pearl! How is the water? Is it cool?
Pearl was startled suddenly, and hurriedly immersed himself in the water.
Pearl: [horrified] Please get out of here, Root McCanras!
Root: Shall I teach you how to swim?
Pearl: Not good!
Root ignored it and quickly took off his shirt.
Pearl: [indignantly] Root, how dare you!
Root unbuttoned the leather apron tied around his waist.
Root: [intentionally] I'm sorry, baby. I can't hear what you said. I'm coming!
Pearl: [hurriedly] You can't come here!
Root: You just think I'm not here.
Root took off his unbuttoned leather apron, stripped off his shirt, and left his back bare.
Pearl turned away shyly.
Root picked up a stone and threw it into the water with a plop. Pearl thought Root jumped into the water, and suddenly swam to the grass with an exclamation.
Looking at Pearl's embarrassed back, Root sneered and quickly picked up his shirt and put it on to hide under the rock.
For a moment Pearl felt nothing, and turned to look strangely.
Pearl looked surprised.
Suddenly, Root emerged from behind the stone, startling Pearl. Root laughed.
Root: Ah, how's it going? Are you disappointed?
Embarrassed Pearl slammed the water hard.
Pearl: Oh, you... the nastiest, the meanest, the most shameless.
Root pretended not to hear, grinned, leaned back on the stone, and raised one leg on stilts.

32. Dusk. Same place as above
. Root was lying on a large rock beside the pool, humming boringly.
Under the stone, Pearl was immersed in the water with his hands on his shoulders in annoyance.
Root: Come out. I will not stop you.
Pearl: [indignantly] No! You can't be here!
Root: All right, let's wait until it gets dark.

33. The hazy night. Courtyard in front of the house.
Root and Pearl hurried back. Rutler jumped off, about to dismount Pearl.
Pearl: [angrily] Let go! drop me! It's almost time for dinner! What will your mother think?
Root: [suddenly] Oh! Are you scared to death, come out early or come home early, little tiger cat!
Root put his hands together and lifted Pearl off the horse indiscriminately. Pearl was speechless for a moment, and thumped Root desperately.

34. In front of the house.
Pearl came running out of breath.

35. Restaurant.
Cups and plates on the table are a mess. The maid, Vastel, was tidying up casually. Pearl, who hurried in, closed the door angrily.
Pearl: I'm late, everyone has eaten, right? Didn't Mrs. McCanras say anything?
Washtai: Oh, yes, miss. She asked 'where is Miss Pearl? 'I said I don't know. She asked again, 'Where is Master Root? 'I said I don't know. She said 'Okay, then...'
Laura Bell, looking uneasy, pushed the door and walked in.
Laura Bell: Pearl, my dear! You are driving me to death!
Pearl: [rising] I'm sorry, ma'am.
Laura Bell: [uneasily] What's going on?
Pearl: [thinking] I'm going on a horse.
Laura Bell: With Root?
Pearl was silent. Laura Bell seemed to realize something.
Laura Bell: Washtai, get Miss Pearl some food.
Vaste walked away.
Laura Bell: [Tentatively] Riding with Root?
Pearl: [whisperingly] No, ma'am! I didn't go with Root.
Laura Bell: [considering] But he didn't come to dinner either.
Pearl: He's coming.
Laura Bell: Are you not together?
Pearl: [blushes] We happened to meet.
Laura Bell breathed a sigh of relief, and turned to Pearl's wet hair.
Laura Bell: Why is your hair wet, Pearl?
Pearl was startled, and subconsciously stroked his hair, feeling flustered in his heart.
Pearl: Oh... me, I'm going to Sump.
Laura Bell: [Accidentally] You go swimming?
Pearl: Yes, ma'am.
Laura Bell: [startled] and Root?
For a moment, Pearl was flustered and didn't know what to say.
Pearl: [incoherent] No, ma'am. No, ma'am. Oh really, no. I don't, really, ma'am.
The door opened and Root walked in with a smile.
Root: [Takes off hat] Good evening, Mom.
Laura Bell, good evening, Root!
Root happily sat down beside Pearl, who had bowed his head and said nothing.
Root: [while eating] I'm sorry, Mom. I'm back late. We're going to Samp.
Suddenly, Pearl glanced at Fangla Bell in panic. Laura Bell looked a little strange.
Root: I want to ride to El Paso tomorrow. Go play and relax, what do you want to bring, mom?
Laura Bell: No, thank you, Root.
Root: [to Pearl] I want to buy you a new swimsuit.
Pearl blushed and stared at Root angrily.
Root just pretended not to see, and looked calm.
Root: She swims really well, Mom.
Root deliberately pretended to have swam with Pearl Ichiki.
Laura Bell was surprised.
Root: [without looking up] Where did you learn it, Pearl?
Pelton was embarrassed and embarrassed.
Laura Bell: [shocked] Oh my god... [runs out covering his face]
Pearl gets up abruptly.
Pearl: [sharply] You..., you bastard!
Root: [pretending to be inexplicable] What's the matter, Pearl? Why the stern brows?
Pearl was so angry that he smeared the jam-covered bread on Root's face and left angrily.
The jam-covered Root stared at Pearl's back and couldn't help laughing.

36. At night, in Pearl's room.
Pearl was sound asleep.
Washtai pushed open the door and entered, and crept up to the bed.
WASTETE: [softly] Miss Pearl, it's time to get up!
Pearl woke up startled.
Pearl: [sleepingly] What's the matter?
WASTETE: Just now Mrs. McKinsey said, "Washtai, as soon as Mr. Juba Corrib gets here, you'll call Miss Pearl."
Pearl: [rising up] Oh, Waster, who is Mr. Juba Corrib? Why did you wake me up?
Vaste: I almost forgot. Mrs. McKinsey called you to the drawing-room. You better hurry, she's waiting for you.
Pearl didn't know what to do, so he wrapped the quilt around him and hurriedly walked out.

37. In the living room.
A man with a haggard and strange behavior has been waiting for a long time. Pearl was standing in the doorway in a shawl, looking at the strange man uneasily.
Laura Bell: [to the man] That's the kid, Juba. Of course, she wasn't very well dressed, but... [to Pearl] shut the door. This is Mr. Juba Corrib. There are no priests in our area, but Mr. Juba Courier...
Juba: [interrupting] A soul saver doesn't look at his clothes.
Laura Bell: [respectfully] Oh, I know, so I'm eager to ask you to talk to this kid.
Juba: [to Pearl] Come here!
Pearl walked towards Juba.
JUBA [hoarsely]: What's a child, Laura Bell? Beneath this pagan garb, is a full-grown woman, [loudly] made by the devil to drive men mad!
Pearl was startled by Juba's cry, took two steps back unconsciously, and looked at Laura Bell with a worried expression.
Laura Bell: Oh, Mr. Juba, don't scare her. I think she just needs a little guidance.
Juba: [staring at Pearl] She needs guidance, and can get guidance, or I wouldn't be doing thirty years of soul-saving work. [Commandingly] Sit down, girl! Would you rather be guilty or innocent?
Pearl: [Uneasy] I'm going to be a good boy, sir.
Juba got up and surveyed Pearl's plump body with a shuddering gaze.
Juba: Then kneel down! I'm going to start getting you saved.
Pearl knelt at Juba's feet, meek as a lost lamb. Juba put one hand on her head and held the other high.
Juba: [in the tone of a priest's prayer] Ah! Lord, look at this girl. She is weak and ignorant, but she is willing to be your slave. Grant her the ability to discern between good and evil, so that he will not go astray with the wild boys of herds. Amen.
A moment later, Juba took out a holy plaque and hung it around Pearl's drooping neck.
Juba: Take it with you, girl.
Pearl: Thank you, sir.
Juba looked at the palmistry with Pearl's slightly trembling hand.
Juba: Are you half Indian? If your ancestors knew you were carrying this, they would be mad. However, it will make you lovely and pure, it will keep you like a jade, and it will lead you to heaven.

38. Afternoon. wilderness.
The West German Pegasus ran towards the McCanras mansion.

39. Same time as above. Inside the Senator's Room.
The senator bowed his head at his desk and was looking at the documents intently. Sid rushed in in a panic.
West Germany: [gasps] Sam...Senator!
Senator: What's the matter?
West Germany: Senator, here comes a group of people from the railroad from the east!
The Senator's face shook, his eyebrows furrowed.
Senator: They did come!
West Germany: They said they were going to pass by our place this afternoon. What to do, Senator?
Senator: [brows slightly] Get Root and Jesse, and...
SID: But Root went to El Paso and hasn't come back.
Senator: [thinks for a moment] Jesse and I might be able to handle this, Sid!
Sid: Yes, sir. [Turns around to come out]
Senator: Come back! Now listen carefully: ring the bells from here to Lanshan Ranch. Call all the workers, cattle herders, and others to assemble at the east gate, and tell them to go!
Sid: Yes, sir.
Senator: Also, West Germany! Let them carry guns!
Sid: Don't worry! [turns around and exits]

40. Pastoral areas. Sid was galloping on the horse.

41. People drum and beat bronze bells, and the bells resound like thunder.

42. The disturbed crowd ran wild on horseback.

43. Railway lines. A small train runs on newly paved tracks.
[Camera zooms in] On the observation deck in front of the locomotive, lawyer Smoot and railroad investor Langford are watching the land that has yet to be laid with railroad tracks.
Smoot: I don't like that, Mr. Langford. This is your railroad, your trouble, I don't want it anyway.
Langford: What opinion, you don't want to? Didn't you tell me we were legal?
Smoot: Ah, but I heard we asked for the military to help, and I hope they don't, I hope we don't need them.
Langford: Your opinion is...?
Smoot: I mean Jackson McCanras isn't the faint of heart. We fought together. If he succumbed, I would have known him for fifty years in vain.

44.
The crowd gathered outside the McKinsey house stood at gunpoint and looked at the senator.
The Senator sat tremblingly on horseback, supported by his servants.
Jesse: [to Senator] I think you should stop riding.
Senator: [angrily] You want me to sit at home like an old woman? They're going to fight, come on! [Screaming] Kings! Bind my legs and go!
Kins and two servants strapped the Senator's legs to the horse's back.
Senators lead the way. Immediately, a group of horses followed and rushed out of the courtyard.

45. A wilderness.
The people and horses in the ranch converged. Senators strangle their horses or scan the crowd sternly.
Senator: My purpose is to defend this ranch. Now, if anyone is a coward, go away! Will you follow me?
Everyone! [Shouting] Willing!
The senator, in high spirits, whipped his horse.
Senator: After reaching the railway line, go west and form a column all the way. bring it on!
Before he finished speaking, the mighty horse team rushed down the hillside and swept away towards the railway line.

46. Railway line construction site. The voices were full of people, and the pickaxes and hammers were flying.
"Woooo-" the whistle blared.
The little train slowly drove into the construction site. Before the car stopped, Smoot and Langford jumped out of the car one after another.
Rutao's hooves sound from far to near.
Smoot looked up. Dust billows on the far field.
Smoot: [to Langford] I said long ago that he couldn't just let it go. They're rushing over.
The galloping horses, under the command of the senator, lined up against the barbed wire on the west side of the railway line, forming a majestic human wall.
Langford: [quietly to Smoot] Looks like they're serious.
Among the human walls, the Senator rode on a tall snowflake horse, staring arrogantly at Smoot, waving a whip in his hand.
Senator: [shouting] Smoot! I hope you make it clear.
Smoot walked up to the horse, surrounded by the crowd, and Langford followed closely behind him, looking uneasily.
Smoot: [with a smile] Ah, when did you think I was afraid of a fight? You know I'm a railroad lawyer and...
Senator: [with a wave of the horsewhip] Stop talking nonsense! Who's leading the way?
Smoot: Oh, Langford's on the rails.
Langford staggered forward and took off his hat with a smile.
Langford: Well known, Senator. Nice to meet you.
Senator: [snorts] Thank you for your kindness, I don't think so. [points to the crowd on the construction site with his whip] You'd better tell those thieves you hire to pack up the transport - get out of here, if you know what's going on.
Langford: We're legal...
Smoot: Well, I said Mr. McKinsey, if you'd listened to me and went to court, wouldn't this land be...
Senator: [looks wide] What's wrong! I have my law, right there!
The senator flicked his whip, and his team immediately flashed a long black spear.
Smoot: [to Senator] Jackson! You and I fought to build Texas, and our purpose is to see everyone do their jobs peacefully.
Senator: [laughs] Yes? Whoever dares to break into my field, I will shoot! Smoot, please bear with me!
After speaking, the Senator raised his right arm: In an instant, the long guns in the team were raised, and the muzzles of the guns were aimed at the bare-handed crowd on the construction site.
For a moment, the construction site was dead silent. People held their breaths and stared at the senator. With just a wave of the senator's hand, a bloodshed is about to happen.
Suddenly, Jesse, who was leaning against the Senator, stretched out his hand and grabbed the Senator's raised right arm.
The Senator stared blankly at Jesse for some reason.
Jesse: [calmly] Wait a minute, sir. Can I talk to you privately?
Senator: [looks straight] Say what you want to say here!
Jessie: I'm sorry, Dad. But... I'm afraid you are wrong.
Senator: [angrily] I didn't let you worry about it.
Jesse: [Indignantly] You're going to shoot someone with bare hands?
Senator: [hesitates] They're like rattlesnakes. [pointing to the barbed wire in front of him] Look how they dare to cross this line!
Jesse: [resolutely] If that's the case, Senator...!
Jesse jumped off the horse, slipped through the barbed wire, and sided with the workers.
The senator was furious.
Senator: You are on the other side!
Jesse: I think it's better to be on the side of the victim than the killer.
As Jesse said, he took a pair of steel pliers from the hand of a man beside him, and Qin cut the barbed wire.
The senator was furious.
Senator: [snarls] Jesse, I'm warning you now. As soon as you cut the wire, I'll shoot those people right away!
Jesse: [still admonishing his father] Then you committed murder!
Suddenly, cheers broke out on the construction site, and people suddenly boiled. The workers cheered, shouted, and rushed forward like a tidal wave.
The senator was startled and looked back. Accompanied by the thunderous sound of hoofs, two lines of cavalry galloped toward the east. A leading officer held the flag of the United States of America.
The senator's men began to riot, their eyes were terrified, and the gun they were holding couldn't help hanging down.
The troops were lined up along the eastern side of the barbed wire, their spears raised in unison, one by one against the senator's men.
Smoot, who turned from worry to joy, kept drawing a cross on his chest and muttering to himself.
The officer with the flag of the United States of America in his hand stood face to face with the senator. The flag fluttered slowly in front of the senators.
Senator: [Sadly] I fought for this flag, I can't shoot it. [Whip waving] West Germany, tell them all to go back to work.
Before the order was finished, the line of defense between the man and the horse collapsed.
The Senator turned his horse and Jesse ran up.
Jessie: Dad,
I- Senator: [angrily] Get out of here! Never come back until I die!
After saying that, the senator whipped his whip to the ponytail. The horse roared, and jumped up its front hooves in fright, before the Senator grabbed the reins and flew forward.
Suddenly, the Senator leaned forward, his shoulders on the ground, and his feet hung upside down on the stirrups.
The frightened horse dragged the senator and ran...
Jesse: [shouting] Stop the horse! Come on - come on!
Seeing this, Sid flew over and grabbed the reins.
Senator: [Weakly] Hurry up! lift me up!
Jesse: I'm here. Are you okay, Dad?
Seeing Jesse standing in front of him, the senator grew angrier and pushed him away.
Senator [angrily]: Leave me alone, you traitor!

47. Railway lines.
A cheerful crowd surrounded Jesse.
[Camera zooms in] The worker with the steel pliers twists the wire. For a moment, cheers resounded throughout the field.

48. Dusk. McCannlas Residence. Black clouds hang down and thunder rolls.
Root, who had just returned from El Paso, jumped off his horse. The courtyard was silent.
Root strapped on his horse, whistled, and strode into the front hall.
Root: [looking around] Hi! anyone there?
The hall was deserted, except for the voice of Vastein from the Senator's room.
Root: Vaste!
Vaste: [runs out] Good afternoon, Master Root.
Root: Why is there no one? Where have everyone gone?
Waster: I can't tell, but the Senator is riding away.
Root: Senator on horseback? You are probably confused!
Washtai: No, sir. He rode with a lot of people. [Thinking about it] Oh, what meeting are they going to have.
Root: What?
Washtai: I can't tell. But I asked Mrs. McKinsey, "Mrs. McKinsey, where are all these people going?" She said, "Washthai..." Root
: Okay, Vashthai.
Root waved his hand impatiently and leaned against the door in a daze.
Root seemed to hear something and glanced at Pearl's room.

49. Inside Pearl's room.
Pearl leaned over and wiped the ground, sweat dripping down her crimson cheeks.
For a moment, Pearl felt that the door was pushed open and someone came in.
Pearl looked back, and saw Root standing in the doorway, irritated and annoyed. Root stared at Pearl with a gleaming gaze, a creepy smile on the corner of his mouth.
Pearl ignored him and pretended not to see.
Root closed the door, took off his hat arrogantly, and approached Pearl slowly.
Pearl threw the rag in Root's face vigorously. Root just smiled nonchalantly, and moved to Pearl's side without hesitation.
The two stared at each other...
Suddenly, Root embraced Pearl without hesitation.
Pearl froze, trying to push Root away, but Root hugged her tightly.
Outside the window, there was thunder and lightning.
Root and Pearl kissed passionately.

50. Same time as above. wilderness.
The vast raindrops hang down on the wilderness like a curtain woven of transparent white yarn. In the distance, lead-grey clouds floated behind the shadows of the mountains.
On the way home, the Senator lay groaning in a battered carriage. Sid and others followed slowly behind the car.

61. Inside Laura Bell's room.
Laura Bell sat in a corner crying. Jesse spoke as she crouched under her mother's knees.
Jesse: I think I'll have to go for a while. [wiping tears for mother] Ah, don't cry, I'll be back soon. When the railroad is connected, the Senator will be all right.
Laura Bell: I know you're leaving sooner or later. Now the time has come and I can't stand it.
Jesse: Ah, it doesn't matter. I'm in Austin looking for a job, you can come and see me. I can also show you around New Orleans.
Laura Bell: [sobs] No, he won't let me go. I'll never see you again—never. [Holding his face and crying] I know! He said if you came back, he would shoot you.
Jessie: Ah, Mom. Everyone in the McCannlas family was stubborn.
The voice of the senator from downstairs startled the mother and son.
Off-screen Senator: Mrs. McKinsey, come here!
Laura Bell got up hastily, looking pale.
Jesse: You go see him first.
Laura Bell: [reluctantly] Will you go later, Jesse?
Jesse: Okay. I'm going to pack first and then say goodbye to Pearl.
Jesse watched her mother out of the room.

52. Backyard.
Jesse walked to Pearl's room.

53. Pearl Room. Jie Si gently knocked on the door.
Jesse: Pearl, Pearl! are you there?
There was a rustling sound in the house. Jesse listened intently.
Pearl's hoarse voice in the house: Jesse, please go...
Root's voice in the house: Don't be afraid, baby. Come in, Jesse. Thanks for knocking on the door, Jessie.
Jesse was startled and slammed the door open.
[The camera looks into the house from outside the door] Pearl has fluffy hair and is sitting on the bed disheveled. Root stood to one side, happily lighting a cigarette.
Seeing this, Jesse was dumbfounded. For a moment, Jessie hung her head down sadly.
Root: [smiling] I've never been interested in your politeness. Jessie, I might be wrong.
Jesse stood still, staring at Root, knowing what was going on.
[Camera advances] Pearl's ashamed, sad face.
[Close-up]: Those crystal clear eyes were dipped in tears. Tears flowed down her cheeks as her long eyelashes twitched slightly.
Pearl: [softly] Jesse...Jesse..., I...
Jessie: Please forgive me for disturbing you, Pearl. I beg your pardon too, Root.
Jesse left in dismay. Pearl chased after him.
Pearl: Jesse! Jesse! Please wait!

54. Inside Jesse's room.
Jesse hurried forward, packing quickly. Pearl chased after him restlessly.
Pearl: I...I didn't mean to...
Jessie: [puts clothes in suitcase] Pearl, I totally get it.
Pearl choked and grabbed Jesse's hand.
Pearl: [Agitatedly] No! Do not! You don't understand, don't understand!
Jesse ignored it and continued packing.
Pearl: [surprised] Where are you going?
Jesse: Austin.
Pearl: [Uncomfortably] You...are you going long?
Jessie: [thinks for a moment] I'm afraid a long time.
Pearl: Not because of...
Jesse: Oh, no. You are too simple. I - I was asked to go, - the Senator asked me to go.
Root appeared in the doorway, peering at Jesse nonchalantly.
Root: Are you leaving, Jesse?
Jesse: Hmm. Your dream has come true.
Root: [playfully] It's a little deserted here without the lawyer. Right, Pearl?
Pearl: [naively] Ah, yes!
Root: [intentionally] Then we don't know what's right and what's wrong.
Jessie: [stars at Root] Root, I'm surprised. For the first time I found out that you are interested in theory.
Root: [indifferently] Ah, I hope you forgive me. [Glancing at Pearl] You probably have a lot to say, don't you?
After that, Root hummed a song and walked away.
Pearl: Oh, Jesse, I'm going to be lonely without you here. I really don't know how I can stand it.
Jesse: You seem to be living a good life.
Pearl: Oh... [covers face in pain]
Jessie: Sorry, I shouldn't have said that.
Pearl: I really can't help it, Jesse. Don't ignore me...
Jessie: I understand. Ludai is irresistible.
Pearl: [excitedly] Oh, no! I hate him! I know what you think! You think I'm a bitch! like my mother.
Jesse: Pearl, you can't think that way. It's Root's fault and you need help.
Pearl: [Sincerely] Oh, I really needed your help back then.
Jesse hesitated and put the suitcase on the table.
Jesse: [speaking softly] Well said. I was a little in love with you at first.
Pearl: [surprised] You...you love me?
Jesse: I thought about it, when you grow up.
Pearl: [Unexpectedly] Oh, oh, I don't know at all, you...why didn't you tell me then, Jessie?
Jesse: I don't think it's appropriate to do that.
Pearl's heart was bitter and unspeakable, and his expression was lost.
Jesse: I went to your room to say goodbye. I'll come back to see you and write to you, Pearl.
Pearl: Really, Jesse, definitely write it!
Jesse: If you need me, I'll be back with or without the senator!
Pearl: [early eyes] Then you're going to forget...forget about tonight, okay? Can you forget?
Jesse: [thinking] No! I don't think it's possible to forget, and I don't think it will ever be possible. I can't tell you what I think. [lifts suitcase] That's not fair. I'm leaving, fighting for fairness. [Turns out]
Pearl stood still, lost.
Suddenly, Pearl spoke to himself with infinite shame and self-pity.
Pearl: Bitch! bitch! bitch! bitch!

55. Same time as above.
Root stood in front of the stairs with a cigarette in his mouth, and Jesse passed by with a suitcase.
Root: [sarcastically to Jesse] I heard you're on the side of those people like a pug.
Jesse, in a fit of rage, turned around and slapped Root hard.
Jesse: It's long overdue to teach you a lesson. [Leaving angrily]

56. Late. In Pearl's room.
[Music starts] Pearl tossed and tossed in pain in bed.
Suddenly, Root's singing came from outside the window.
Pearl: [severely] Shameful!
Pearl lay in bed crying, mumbling Jesse's name.
The sound of lute outside the window was even more rapid.
Suddenly, Pearl sat up with tears all over his face, his hair ruffled and his eyes indifferent.
Pearl: All right, Jesse. You say you will never forget!
Pearl: [Looking out the window to himself] Root!

57. The good light is weak. Horse farm.
Outside the stable fence, Root and Pearl sat comfortably in their carriage. Root caressed the guitar and sang in a low voice. A worker unlocks the stable door. Suddenly, a fierce-tempered maroon-red stallion burst out the door.
Worker: [to Root] Is this the horse you want?
Inside the fence, the mane of the fierce horse is swaying, its hooves are in the air, and it neighs and jumps.
Sid put his bridle around the horse's head. When the horse trembled, Sid couldn't dodge and was knocked to the ground by the horse.
Root: [rising] What's the matter, Sid? what's wrong?
Before Root could speak, the fierce horse had already slammed into the fence. The crossbar is broken. The fierce horse raised its head and neighed, wanting to leap away.
Root suddenly got into the fence, grabbed the horse's mane with one hand, and tried to pick up the bridle with the other.
Sid: [crawls on the ground] Don't pick it up, Root! It will come at you.
Root wrapped his arms around the horse's head, his feet hanging in the air.
Lie Ma jumped up and lifted Root up high.
Root jumped up and pressed the horse's head with his body.
Lie Ma jumped up and down, and his head shook violently.

The horse was panting heavily. Root took advantage of the situation to pick up the bridle.
Root: Don't be afraid of it, Sid. Can't be afraid of it. [Tsuma] I've prepared it for you here.
The fierce horse was startled, and the horse's head swung horizontally. In an instant, Root's legs flew up and his body fell to the ground. The horse's hooves rubbed its way across.
Pearl: [shocked] Root, watch out!
Root stood up and hugged the horse's head again.
Syd: [stunned] He's crazy!
Pearl: [to West Germany] You don't have to worry about him!
Sid: Attention!
PEARL: [Fisting anxiously] Grab its ear and push it down, Root!
Root landed on one knee, grabbed the horse's ears, and held down the horse's head.
Pearl: Yes! Press hard! can subdue it.
Root's body sank with all his might, and the horse's head gradually dropped.
Pearl: [jumping] You've won, Root!
Syd: [admiringly] Oh, no one but Root.
