An autobiographical masterpiece of magical reality metaphors mixed with various elements

This is a poetic masterpiece.

South American style, metaphor, communism, dictatorship, God, rich, poor, childhood perspective, emotional expression, use of color, nude beauty, symbolic language, self-salvation, transformation, human nature.
There are many elements here. Worth a look.

Due to a certain opportunity, I saw this "Autobiography of Magical Reality Metaphor" at the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival.

I am not a senior literary youth. For me, the boundaries of literature and art were limited to Chen Qizhen, Wang Jiawei, and commercialized literary films such as Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris.

This movie really subverted my understanding of all previous literature and art. Literature and art are not pretending to be coercive, not making a fuss, not a 15-minute long shot, but just describing the daily life of an ordinary person.
Literature and art should be thinking about the ultimate in life, thinking about where you came from, how you came, where you are going, and thinking about the meaning of life. Even if these thoughts have no answers, no results.

And what's even more awesome about this director is that he has made these redemptions, sources, reflections, and poetry.
When Mom and Dad are arguing about whether God exists, he's not talking about God.
Father's communism, father's dictatorship at home, the director didn't try to discuss these issues with the audience.
The director only uses these themes to express emotions, express emotions, use colors, metaphors, and performances to express emotions.

It is necessary to appreciate the personal expression language of directors at this level, and the requirements for the audience's appreciation level are indeed very high. After watching it, I feel that my posture level has continued to improve.

Read more, think more, and pretend less.

The Dance of Reality quotes

  • Alejandro as a child: The darkness is swallowing everything. It's going to devour us.

Sara: Alejandrito, do I love you?

Alejandro as a child: Yes, Mama.

    Sara: How much?

Alejandro as a child: From the sky to the earth.

Sara: This is not my love, it comes from God. I am merely the sender. As God creates all, so we all radiate His love. My son, the darkness loves you as much as I do, for it is God's shadow.

  • Alejandro as an Adult: [From film trailer] You and I, have only been memories, never reality. Something is dreaming us, surrender yourself to illusion. Live! Everything that you will become, you already are. What you search for, is already within you. Rejoice in your sufferings, thanks to them, you will reach me.
