Those who say that the heroine is ugly, that this is just an ordinary love story, that it is mainly the theater to set off the atmosphere, should not watch operas or musicals.
I haven't seen the movie version of The Phantom of the Opera and I don't plan to.
The touching part of this play lies in the music, in the actors' singing skills and stage performance. If those sung dialogues were directly read out by the actors, it would not have such a shocking power.
After watching The Phantom of the Opera, the really unforgettable song is the heart-warming song, it's all i ask of you, it's music of the night. The melody circled the ears for many days, immersing one in the sadness and joy of the story.
Opera is a straightforward form of expression, strong, even exaggerated. But if the actor's performance and singing are sincere, it will give the audience the most powerful sense of substitution.
I watched the 25th anniversary edition, and then listened to the Sarah Brightman version, and personally prefer the sierra version. Sarah Brightman is the first Christine, but her voice seems to be a little less girlish, not that confused, innocent, and not clear enough. Sierra's acting is also great.
I have really watched it many times. I am very familiar with every piece of music in the play and have been listening to it repeatedly. I really want to have the opportunity to go to the Grand Theater to see the Phantom of the Opera in the future. I don't know how it feels.
Tribute to the master. Kudos to all the countless crew and cast of the entire show.
