My favorite part of this movie is the music, Jazz's slightly erratic swings, which both match the old-fashioned atmosphere of the 1950s, and set off the unsettledness of the apparently determined heroine.
The real story seems a bit bizarre. In addition to the experience of Surprising George, Ann's bravery as a woman and perseverance as a mother are more touching.
The main line of the story is very clear. It tells that George's mother leaves her husband and takes her two children to find a new life.
The theme is not obvious, or it is very subtle. It combines the pursuit and thinking of family love in a few words, and you need to chew it yourself.
This is a movie that is still worth watching after watching it, and of course a large part of it is due to Renee Zellweger's brilliant performance.
