Before actually watching this movie, I actually saw a spoiler [fake]. It is said that this movie is a woman's journey to find a new husband. They went to many places and met all kinds of people. Finally, the woman really met her mr.right in Hollywood.
Until I watched the whole movie, I always thought this movie was just that, and it was a cliché comedy. But after I read it completely, I just want to curse "What a fool!" Who wrote that idiot spoiler?
This movie is about more than that. In the beginning, the woman in the film is a superficial woman who only spends her husband's money, and it seems that she only embarks on the journey out of anger. What happened when they just embarked on the journey was really stupid and ridiculous, just like the rich people don't know the suffering of the world. At the beginning, it was obvious when the younger son George went to buy a car. The price of the car was $3,500, and it was explained later that his mother, Ann, gave her son $6,000. George didn't know how much money he had. The salesman said that he felt that George couldn't afford it, so he showed all the money in his hand quite "frankly". Later, George was pulled over for questioning, and the bargaining between Ann and the owner of the car dealership was also quite interesting.
Their journey was not smooth at all. I always meet some inexplicable people who mocked the mother and son in various ways. I will not give examples one by one. What impresses me the most is that the woman was waiting for her old lover. After seeing the old lover kissing a young girl, she felt down and went to talk to another man who seemed to be equally lost and interested in her. As a result, the man said that he was a detective, and he wanted her to be in the shift room... I was speechless when I saw that. So unexpected.
Fortunately, there are good people in the world. That car mechanic seems to be called Bud. He was indeed a gentleman, and he was the one who brought Ann out of the police station in the end. I've always had a crush on him.
It's a pity that because of the age gap and Ann's idea of "marrying only rich men" at the beginning, the relationship between him and Ann is just a friend.
Bud's sister, the girl who was in a relationship with George, I don't particularly like her, I feel that there is absolutely no phone call between her and Logan Lerman [the actor who plays George], I even think this part is completely can be deleted. It doesn't seem to have any impetus to the future plots. At most, George is a good boy = =. And when the family left the place, her and George's goodbyes weren't reluctant. I really don't understand why the director and screenwriter arranged this part.
The foil George was mentioned above. In fact, I think the protagonists of this movie are George and his mother Ann, his brother, sorry I can't remember how his name was spelled, only the transliteration is Robin. Robin also seems to be used as a foil for George, and there seems to be nowhere for him to surpass George throughout the movie. But his role can't be deleted like the girl above, because without him, Ann would be finished when she was robbed after George left her, and Ann would be very lonely.
Among the two people who robbed Ann, the girl Wendy is the character I don't understand the most in the whole movie. There seems to be a masochistic quality to her... well maybe I'm wrong, it's just my opinion. In her, you can also experience the contradictions of human nature and the fickleness of people. Ann and Robin rescued her, indeed they rescued her from the sea of misery and from that soldier. Unexpectedly, she left in the end, and swept away Ann's money. This time, Ann and Robin became good deeds but were deceived. The director added a paragraph, perhaps just for George's return. But if you want to investigate the reasons, there are probably only three: 1. She loves Brother Bing so much that she can't leave him, so she still goes back [but why take the money away? This makes no sense. After all, it was someone who was kind enough to save her, so this article was rejected] 2. She has masochistic characteristics and can't stand others being too good to her. Brother Bing often does this. She plays the girl who was forced to go astray, and deliberately let those people take her away, and then took the opportunity to take their money [This reason I came up with for a long time, I think it should be the most It is possible].
This movie is full of twists and turns, and there are surprises everywhere. Thought Robin was bound to be an actor, but he ended up changing careers; thought George could become a writer and stay in New York, but he came back at the last minute, and he was the actor; thought Ann was sure to find her The ideal person, in the end she was completely independent.
Anyway, I love this movie~ Really, it made me understand that if you really want to have happiness, you must learn to be independent first.
