I remember that when "Spring Comes Together" came out, some people said, don't feel awkward, you just need to imagine Tony Leung and Leslie Cheung as a man and a woman, and all the details can be understood. I guess, Wong Kar Wai's script is probably written like this, about the love of a man and a woman, grafted on two men.
The same goes for Oasis. If it is a love story between a normal man and a normal woman, it is not unusual, but if the heroine is replaced by an ugly cerebral palsy patient, under the amazing gap, this movie will be very moving.
I think this should be regarded as a shortcut to make a work a masterpiece. Of course, this shortcut cannot be taken by ordinary people.
The same is true of writing fairy tales. The same conversation, if asked by two people, may be trivial, but if asked by two snails, the children will love it. To make up a magical world, and then move all the structures in the human world into it, like Rowling, is a surging imagination.
2. In
the movie "Oasis", the deepest impression is the dream of four healthy people, the general and the princess, who are both true and illusory. At the end of the story, I went back and watched it again, and almost cried. If I were a poet, I would sing for you.
This movie made me feel so strongly about how wonderful it is to have a healthy woman standing in front of you, sitting next to you, lying in your arms.
