Reality is forever, a move is forever

There was a mountaineering competition in the afternoon. A few days ago, our director Zheng Lizhen came to my office and tried to invite me to participate in this event. This morning, she came and let me off the plane coldly. Damn, this old woman is really annoying, not to mention that we always overcharged us when we evaluated the second-level professional title last time, and today he still lingers on me when he is recruited, hum, next time If you want to ask me to do something, please move the old lady to be counted as your bull! However, it is also good to not go to the mountain. I have enough time in the afternoon to carefully watch "The Maid's Diary" again. For the sake of being able to watch the movie, I don't have the same knowledge as the old woman.
The black and white images of "The Handmaid's Diary" gave me a sense of sophistication and elegance, and of course, even having watched it twice, I don't think I've understood the movie deeply. Although the film is called the "Master Collector" series, I really don't know anything about its director, so there is no problem of superstitious masters. In fact, I think "The Handmaid's Diary" can stand the test of repeated viewing.
When I watched it for the first time, there was one thing that puzzled me. The heroine, Celestine, clearly thought that the servant named Joseph, who used to snitch to her mistress, was old, ugly and dirty. How could she want to talk to her? What about his idea of marriage? It was only later that it became clear that a little girl Celestine liked was raped and killed. She suspected that Joseph did it. In order to find out the evidence, she did not hesitate to seduce this reckless man.
Is Joseph a bad guy? There are many places in the movie telling us that Joseph is not a good person, for example, he secretly reported to the hostess about the new maid, for example, when he even killed the goose, he used to brutally torture the poor goose, for example, he often revealed Out of interest in a little girl named Claire. The most important thing is that the movie clearly tells us that Joseph was the last person to see little Claire in the woods, but Joseph steadfastly denies that he saw her on the day Claire was killed. If he didn't kill people, why would he lie? So Celestine's suspicion is correct, but there is really no evidence to bring Joseph to justice. Celestine can only use the means of planting fake goods to get the police to arrest Joseph. But framing the blame is always framing the blame, and it didn't take long for Joseph to be released because there was no evidence. Despite Celestine's best efforts, little Claire's murder remains unsolved.
In fact, except for Joseph, other people in the movie are not good things. Celestine's hostess is a cold personality, always arrogantly showing off the exquisite furnishings to Celestine; the male host is simply a sexual hooligan, always sexually harassing Celestine; the old host is a gentleman She is full of demeanor, but she is a foot fetish. She always asks Celestine to put on exquisite boots and walk back and forth to show him... The crime of being a maid for such a family is really unacceptable. When she couldn't stand it and decided to leave, she unexpectedly heard the news of the murder of little Claire at the train station. In order to find out who the murderer was, she actually returned to that perverted family job, which led to the above-mentioned seduction of Joseph. story.
So what exactly is this story trying to tell us? Of course, we can say that it reveals the emptiness of the bourgeoisie, the sins, the pity of the working people, etc. These things will be studied by someone, so I don't need to spend more time here. However, it is also true that the bad guys in the film did not get the punishment they deserved. Celestine ends up marrying the most upright colonel in the film, but the colonel thinks that the villain Joseph is a real patriot, and even the rogue hostess Mondel, who was originally hated, has suddenly become a gentleman in his eyes. Can Mendel be a gentleman? After the failed sexual harassment of Celestine, he hooked up with another old maid servant in the family, and he certainly didn't have to play hooligans with other women after his sexual desire had been satisfied.
Good and evil are rewarded is a result that people take for granted, and it is a common reality that good people and bad people have a good time together. The significance of this film is to replicate this reality. It is rare that the director's attitude during this process is neither angry nor sympathetic, and has always been calm. At the end of the film, a group of people shouting political slogans on the street fade away. I believe that most of the people in the crowd do not clearly understand why they want to participate in such intense political activities. An honest colonel can't tell who is good and who is evil. The "France Today" newspaper, which was arranged by the people next to it, obviously had a profound meaning. It made us immersed in the film suddenly realize, isn't the film talking about "France Today"?
The brilliant thing about this movie is that although the era it depicts has passed for many years, the reality it presents itself is neither old nor new, even if it is held today. This feature is combined with the elegant temperament of the film itself, and firmly affixes a "master" label to "The Handmaid's Day".
