They knew very simply that the bad teacher who took advantage of his teaching position took advantage of the two girls. They fought back after Legs appeared, and this fight became the beginning of their friendship, with punishment as a price.
They live in an abandoned house. The life of a girl of this age is very real. They are always excited and laughing about little things, sometimes hesitant, sometimes trying to make themselves strong. Each of them has their own mark. Maddy likes photography and uses the lens to record everything; Rita has no friends, even her sister laughs at her; Goldie has a father who beat her and is addicted to drugs; Disrespectful girl.
They got together because of that bad teacher, sneaked into the school late at night for Maddy's work, and nearly started a fire. Legs marked the night with tattoos, each of the girls had one on their chest, and they all loved the mark.
They live together and experience those stories together. Legs' life gradually unfolds before Maddy and the other girls. Her mother was her friend, but has passed away. Her father meant nothing to her. She was afraid of the police, maybe she had been arrested. She was used to solving everything in her own way, but then she found out that she was wrong.
While Goldie is getting rid of his addiction with the help of the other girls, Legs goes to his father with a gun and asks for money to make Goldie more comfortable. She didn't believe that a father who would beat his daughter would have any love for Goldie. However, Maddy proved her wrong. After rita shot Goldie's father tied to a chair by surprise, they called each other's names, which was the affection of father and daughter.
Legs just walked away, and on the bridge she knew about Maddy, before she got into the truck, asked Maddy if she wanted to walk with her. Maddy gave her the answer she expected, and they put each other in their hearts.
This is finding your own story. Each of them has changed the lives that once troubled them in their lives with the Legs. They still have a lot of problems to solve in the future, but they have opened a skylight.
I really hope to find a house that can accommodate you, just like in the film.
