No matter how old you are, there will be a youth runaway

"Chick" is the name of a 14-year-old boy who doesn't seem to have a story in this movie.
The protagonist of the movie is a 14-year-old boy named Mike. He looks exactly like all ordinary junior high school students, and he also has the confusion that all teenagers share.

The beginning of the film is a Chinese class. The teacher seems to give the students a composition topic and ask them to write about their own lives. Mike's composition title is "My Mother and the Beautiful Countryside", a beautiful title, isn't it? I think Mike himself thinks so too. He seriously wrote a long story, which looks like seven or eight pages.

He loves his mother very much. He writes that her mother is a tennis player who can easily win the championship despite drinking too much. Mom is about to be sent to rehab, but she jokingly calls it a "beautiful pastoral". Before he finished reading his article, he was stopped by the teacher, and the students sitting below were also disgusted. After class, he was called to the office and was severely criticized by the teacher.

"He's your mother, how can you say that to her!" The
teacher was very excited, but Mike was stunned.

The world of adults only sees "drinking" and "depression", but children only see "mother". Mike didn't feel like he was slandering his mother, he was just telling the truth, and it didn't affect his love for her.
The confusion of teenagers comes from their innocence.

Mike is a very innocent teenager who secretly likes a girl in his class. The girl's birthday is coming, she is going to hold a birthday party during the holiday, and then invite her classmates to participate. After learning the news, Mike decided to give a gift to the girl. It took him a long, long time to prepare, and he did a great, great painting, a portrait of a girl. Very romantic, right? However, he was the only person in the class who did not receive an invitation. His grades were poor and unlikable, and he was ostracized by everyone.

When we were young, we always didn't know what the most sincere love was, and then we missed it, it was forever. That girl, I really feel sorry for her. Mike, what a talented boy actually. How many girls receive expensive ring bags, but don't know what is the most rare. You can imagine the drawing boy thinking about you while he is tracing, you can imagine his serious and concerned expression, his hard-working and uneasy look. The hardest thing is sincerity.

Fortunately, Mike met Cheek, and "innocence" met "courage".

Cheek is a transfer student in his class and wears a pair of broken shoes. Oh, forgot to mention, he's the other guy in the class who wasn't invited by the girl. He didn't care, he was in a daze, always drunk in class, but his grades were very good. Mike hated him like the rest of his classmates at first, but he saw the wine he brought. The smell of drunkenness, he felt, was the smell of sadness, just like his mother's.
Not only did Cheek get good grades, but he also drove very smoothly. He stole a car, loaded Mike, two outcast teenagers, and started a youthful rampage, all the way south. Chick threw Mike's phone, saying that any bastard could find them on his phone. Mike threw Cheek's wine, he said you want to rush to the curb? Then they found a box of Richard Clayderman's piano pieces in the car and played it.
This journey is really beautiful, no cell phone, no alcohol, only soft piano music and clean scenery along the road.

Along the way, they met many people and said goodbye to many people.
Only these two teenagers always help each other and understand each other.
I think Chick is a very mysterious boy, he doesn't know where he's from, he seems to do everything so well, he even disappears at the end, or hides.
I think he may be "courage", something every teenager needs to grow up. Or maybe he's Mike's alter ego.
Mike gradually became a little bit like Cheek, daring to express himself, daring to resist, daring to escape

The above is my favorite dialogue in the movie. It is not a teenager to have a youth runaway.
Not only teenagers will experience confusion and pain, but adults may even more. In life, do you encounter times when you can't figure it out, are denied or are very tired?
No matter how old you are, you can have a reckless youth runaway.
No cell phones, no interruptions.
No alcohol, no worries.
Only the soft piano music and the clean scenery by the roadside.
And yours,
innocence and courage.

  • Maik Klingenberg: Did you steal that car?

Tschick: No, just borrowed it. I'll put it back later. Lada Niva, runs on diesel.

    Maik Klingenberg: What about fingerprints?

Tschick: That's TV bullshit. Go ahead, touch anything.

Maik Klingenberg: You want to go to jail?

Tschick: I'm only 14, man. Criminal accountability starts at 15. Come on, Maik, let's go for a spin!
