This is a heavy taste and weird movie.
The story takes place on an isolated island with more than 40 people. The scene is a dark, dirty and messy building. Most of the characters are ugly and neurotic. The atmosphere created by the film is weird and depressing, and the so-called "comedy" is just a carnival of neurotic people.
How did the screenwriter think of this kind of story? The so-called utterance is not surprising and endless. I think of Sister Feng and Sister Furong, who smashed the Internet back then-I have no intention to belittle this movie. What I want to say is that this movie is too different.
There is no good-looking person in the movie. The "hot girl" in the eyes of the protagonists is an old lady who knits a sweater.
What does this movie want to say? "All life is worthy of respect"-this is the conclusion drawn at the end of the film. Well, it feels a bit unconvincing. In my opinion, this film is just showing off suspense to the audience, focusing on taste and neuroticism.
Or, it's just my prejudice. If you want to watch a movie and relax in your spare time, you will find it a bit interesting if you happen to watch this one. But to be like me, with the purpose of appreciating, the feeling is definitely different.
Therefore, film reviews are more or less prejudiced. I think of those gourmets who comment on food very well, but many of us don’t pay much attention to food. The same goes for movies.
So be it.
