Space between what's wrong and right

One of the best Lesbian movies I have seen in a long time after Saving Face. If you are looking for something sensual then this is the movie for you, although the ending is probably not what you expect, there is an alternate ending on the DVD , which would probably suit most people. I absolutely love the film. It is brilliantly cast, well-written and directed. Great chemistry of lead actors, and the tension is built up so well through the whole movie. And to top it all off , the music throughout the movie flows perfectly with the storyline and adds to the overall beauty and emotion of the film. The film poses questions posed about Catholicism and Christianity's view on humanity, and gives us two extremes in how to see ourselves, as Circus sideshow material or living unfulfilled lives. I love how the student is the one doing the pursuing.Erin Kelly was magnetic as Annabelle. She looks real cool and mysterious. Her eyes are so capturing and powerful. I had to rewatch parts to get the deeper message. I loved the very relevant poetic references and other quotes in the film. The 35mm film looks glossy and the colors are crisp. The photography is just beautiful. However, the ending was a bit short, leaves your imagination to run wild to come up with so many different possibilities of what could happen after the ending. As said in the quote before the credits, "For one human being to love another that is perhaps the most difficult of all our tasks". You gotta love Katherine Brooks. She's an absolute genious. Every moment in this movie gave me butterflies. Every time I watch it, I feel for the characters just that much more.Even though the ending was heartbreaking but it really reminds us how powerful love is, how people would rather go through so much pain just to love someone that is also considered taboo to many people. The loneliness of both of Annabelle and Simone, tenderness, secret and shy touches, eye contacts, Catholic school context and broken taboo made of this film real experience to see it.

After 56 minutes of watching, the movie was not great, I was sleepy myself, so I fast-forwarded. The characters are still very attractive, and the teacher is a rebellious student. It would be great if the two of them didn't pull each other. The girl grows up like the younger brother in "Supernatural", and is pretty good-looking; the teacher is too old and ugly.

Loving Annabelle quotes

  • Simone: [talking about getting rid of Annabelle's beads] Maybe you could carry them in your pocket or hide them in your bag where no one could see them.

    Annabelle: I'll think about it.

Simone: Why are you making this so hard?

Annabelle: The first person I fell in love with gave them to me.

Simone: You still in love with him?

Annabelle: *She* moved to Europe last year with her family.

Simone: [Simone touches Annabelle's arm] Think about it.

  • Cat Pegrum: So how's it going with Miss Bradley?

Annabelle: Nothing's *going* with Miss Bradley.

Cat Pegrum: I had a crush on her when I was a freshman. I'm not gay though, I'm into guys too. Michelle Peters was obsessed with her, she used to write her notes and shit in class.

Annabelle: I'm not obsessed with her.

Cat Pegrum: But you like her though.
