A little thought

I agree that eating more fruits and vegetables and an active lifestyle are good for health, but the evidence of the link between meat eating and cancer and heart disease is not explained in detail and is not very convincing. I searched for casein. The paper in the film does not indicate that the animal based diet is carcinogenic ( http://www.westonaprice.org/health-topics/abcs-of-nutr ).
I like the movie that pointed out the misguided guidance of the pharmaceutical factories and the food industry to popular food, and seeing the animals in the movie being treated badly by the factory also made my heart tremble.
My take away is a plant based diet and exercise is undoubtedly good for the body, but I am skeptical of the connection between meat eating and cancer and cardiovascular disease.

Many of the points in it don't really matter to me, who is already a vegetarian, but for those of you who are considering becoming a vegetarian, you might want to take a look.

If vegetarian food is so good, why does the government vigorously promote it? It should be because the age is old and the absorptive capacity is poor, right? Need to start a vegetarian diet at the age of 40?

Forks Over Knives quotes

  • Terry Mason: If it walked, hopped, swam, crawled, slithered, had eyes, a mama and a dad - don't eat it.

  • Narrator: Despite the apparent success of the dietary approach, some critics say eating this way is extreme.

Caldwell Esselstyn Jr.: Now, with the western diet, this guarantees there's going to be what, a half a million people in this country this year who will have to have the front half of their body divided, their heart exposed, then veins will be taken from their leg and sewn on their heart. Some people would call that extreme.
