Some of my own thoughts

This is a documentary of the Rolling Stones, about a free concert at the end of 1969, when the Rolling Stones performed, the Hell Angels gang responsible for security assassinated an audience. Write some ideas

1. The spontaneous order of the crowd is relatively fragile. In the 1960s, hippies generally believed in freedom, peace and non-violence. People at Woodstock always said, "Look, we young people gather together and no one is in charge, but everyone is very happy and tolerant of other people's crazy actions. Certain order and no trouble. At that time, young people believed that human nature was kind and could solve group problems spontaneously.
This idea is very moving. The first rock music I came into contact with was from the 1960s, and my favorite until now is the rock music from the 1960s. I especially hope to see such scenes everywhere. But these moving moments are difficult to maintain. At this large concert a few months later, I saw that the attitude of the gang responsible for security was very rude at the beginning. The audience squeezed forward during the performance and saw a lot of brain-disabled fans. In many fighting scenes, security personnel's knives were seen.
There are many reasons for different group behaviors. For example, the thinking of people in the group has changed: maybe a few years earlier, 66 67 68 years ago, people were truly distressed by the war, and there was a consensus among young people. Later young people just want to have fun, get together and debauch, watch idols, and so on. In fact, I think the consensus in the group is very fragile. There are also many factors, such as the organizer, the incompetent staff and so on.

2. The "truth" of rock music is embodied in self-contradiction. When I was in high school, I saw Liu Tao said that rock and roll should "want to speak and tell the truth." I learned that the most fascinating thing about rock music is its truthfulness. But at the time, I didn't understand why there are often contradictory expressions in different songs of the same musician. I always feel that if a person's expression is contradictory, then one of the words must be a lie and hypocrisy. But now I realize that the human soul is ambiguous, contradictory, and a mixture of desires. It's sad, but that's it. It is true to realize this contradiction and express it; to avoid them is hypocritical and negligent. For example, when I saw the actress being raped when I was playing, the hormones went up, and then I felt sympathy and couldn't bear to watch it. Both of these emotions were reflected in me.
In the film, Mick Jagger just finished singing street fighting man, he told the people in the audience, don’t fight, sit down, if you fight again, I won’t act; Jagger felt heartache when watching the videotape of the fighting incident, and finished watching it. After he stood up, his eyes were bored and indifferent. Rock musicians who have sung anti-war songs have also sang the desire for violence. People always have diametrically opposite desires and should face each of them.

Gimme Shelter quotes

  • Sonny Barger: They started messin' over our bikes - they started it. I don't know if you think we pay $50 for them things or steal 'em or pay a lot for 'em or what. Ain't nobody gonna kick my motorcycle! And they might think that because they're in a crowd of 300,000 people, that they can do it and get away with it. But, when you're standing there, lookin' at something that's your life and everything you've got is invested in that thing and you love that thing better than you love anything in the world, and you see a guy kick it - you know who he is. You're gonna get 'em! And, you know what, they got - got!

  • Sonny Barger: I am not no peace freak, by any sense of the word. And you can call them people flower children and this and that. Some of them people was loaded on some drugs. That it's just too bad we wasn't loaded on, because, they come runnin' off of the hill yellin': ahhh-ahhhh-ahhhh! You know and jump on somebody and it wasn't even always jumpin' on Angels. But, when they jumped on an Angel, they got hurt.
