Are they really unforgivable?

I watched "Wang Guowei's Comment on A Dream of Red Mansions" a few days ago, in which Wang Guowei quoted Schopenhauer's three classifications of tragedies, which suddenly reminded me of this movie. Schopenhauer believes that in the first kind of tragedy, there are always one or two extremely evil people in the story, who say bad things and do everything badly; in the second kind of tragedy, the culprit of the misfortune is not one or two bad people, but blindness. Fate; in the third tragedy, all characters only need some morally mediocre characters, placing them in a very ordinary situation, just putting them in a position of opposition to each other, they are just for this position. Forced to create disasters for each other, we cannot say who among them is doing the wrong thing. Schopenhauer believes that "Faust" is the third tragedy, and Wang Guowei believes that "A Dream of Red Mansions" is also. So, are there any evil people in "The House of Sin"? Su Ying believes that the true meaning of tragedy is a deep understanding, realizing that what the protagonist of the tragedy redeemed is not his own unique sin, and the second is the original sin, that is, the sin of survival itself.

-----The following is the original film review-----

In harmony, the "Inspector" suddenly visited. Being aggressive on the moral high ground is unpleasant. Is it unforgivable for the boss to lay off the workers’ strike leader? Is it unforgivable for the squeamish blonde to complain about the untimely laughing salesperson? It’s unforgivable that the brother-in-law was pity-xiang-xiyu but broke up peacefully with the bar girl because of class differences. Is it unforgivable for the rich woman to reject the applicant for the poverty alleviation fund whose reasoning logic is not right? In the end, the little brother seemed to be kind, but he was so strong that he didn't bring tools to commit the crime. He didn't dare to be responsible if he had a child. You are the father of the child! At least the first four events, for most people, have similar endings. Some people say this is the original sin. The word sounds too much. People are not a kind of great kind. They abide by their own moral code and principles of dealing with affairs. Can employees who incited workers to go on strike stay? Before and after applying for poverty alleviation funds, the rhetoric was inconsistent, and it was suspected to be a liar. Who is to blame? They all wear tinted glasses and want to kill the heroine. Perhaps all of this was shocking and ironic in the historical context of the time.

An Inspector Calls quotes

  • Arthur Birling: [about his workers] If you don't come down hard on some of these people, they'll soon be asking for the earth.

    Gerald Croft: [obsequiously] That's right.

The Inspector: They might. But it's better to ask for the earth than to take it.

  • [last lines]

Arthur Birling: [hanging up the phone] A girl has died. Suicide. A police inspector is on his way to ask us some questions.
