meaningless sequel

In fact, in recent months, I watched The Man from Earth in 2007

The Man From Earth (2007)
8.5
2007 / United States / Drama Science Fiction / Richard Scheinkman / David Lee Smith Tony Todd

After reading it, I was shocked and amazed everywhere. After a few days and two brushes, I still like it very much.

A simple house, a few learned professors, 14,000 years of life, a proposition that cannot be proved or falsified

The conversation ends with a joke, but the ending confirms John's identity in unexpected ways

The film is less than an hour and a half, but it perfectly shows everyone's personality, ideas, psychological changes, religious beliefs

When I happened to see Holocene on PT, I was stunned. I didn't expect that there would be a second part after ten years, so I downloaded it with great anticipation. I only found the subtitles today, but I found that IMDb has dropped to 5.8, in order to be the first Department still watched.

It is no longer the speculation of a roomful of professors, but the reckless exploration of four students.

Just like in the past, John has a new identity, a new occupation, and a new woman, but there is a problem with his immortal body, and the era of information explosion makes it difficult for him to hide. A student discovers John Oldman from a signature on a book, and the four start looking around for clues.

From the time three of them broke into John's house and started rummaging around, I was utterly disappointed. How naive, ignorant, and self-righteous to break into the house of his two professors and rummage unscrupulously without caring at all? Elizabeth is still the assistant of the female professor, so is she worthy of John's trust? And I won't say what the big-breasted girl took, I really feel sick watching that scene.

Later, the big-breasted girl couldn't control herself to go to John to ask for devotion and say omission. John decided to leave, and the four of them went to stop him. As a result, John——

Got electrocuted!

Shocked!

hit!

!

! ! !

Why, because Art, one of the professors in the last episode, is coming over and they need to keep John.

After the electric shock, John's head was still knocked on the stone (it was bloody enough), the religious brother said you go pick up Art, I called an ambulance, and he took John to the basement

tie! rise! Come! !

Holy sh**

The next two people's conversation is the only highlight of the film. In the end, I went back and watched it again, and I didn't fully understand the religious part. John said that anyway, in the end, you still have only two choices: let me go or stab me, and then the little brother will stab me honestly...and run away

By the time the remaining three and Professor Art returned, all that was left was the bloodstain, the freed chair, and the tape. Art wants to call the police, the students won't let it, saying we will be arrested and our lives will be ruined balabala. Oh, it turns out that you all know the consequences, but you still knowingly committed it, you know it's a crime, but you still persevere. College students and adults are still waiting to be forgiven after making a mistake. I just want to send you a sentence You deserve it.

At the end, John lived in a cave, and the FBI found that the serial killer was suspected of John. The director said to donate some money to us. See you next time.

My personal assessment of this is pointless. The essence of the first part lies in thinking and debate, about life, about times, and about eternity. The only in-depth exploration of the second part was in the basement, and I only felt religious malice. Other scenes about John can be seen as the embodiment of the first chat, but it is not successful. As for the four students, no matter what the reason is, at least their character is questionable, and the behavior of advancing the plot development is also abrupt.

I'm going to brush the first one again at night, and I won't pay attention to the sequel.

Open the official website and want to donate, but unfortunately there is no paypal nor coinpayments, which is a problem

  • Philip: The Book of Revelation says that Jesus will rule over this planet with his believers for 1000 years.

John: Shouldn't there be a better way to help people than ruling over them like a king?
