"The God of Cookery" is a comedy film directed by Stephen Chow and Li Lichi, starring Stephen Chow, Karen Mok, and Wu Mengda. It was released in Hong Kong, China on December 21, 1996. The film tells the story of the "Hong Kong God of Cookery" who was framed by his apprentice and discredited and quit the catering industry, and regained his position as God of Cooking. Stephen Chow (played by Stephen Chow) is a well-known God of Cookery in Hong Kong, second to none in the food industry. As he became more and more successful in business, Stephen Chow went from being a celebrity chef to being a businessman. He paid too much attention to the packaging and promotion of food, ignored the taste of food, and was betrayed by his rich partner, so he was finally defeated in public by his apprentice, Tang Niu, who became the new God of Cookery. Stephen Chow couldn't stand in the food industry, and was reduced to Temple Street, where he met a young woman named "Turkey" (Mok Wenwei). With her help, Xing Zai got back on his feet and invented a new food variety "Lai Niu Wan", which was quickly popularized with the help of Young and Dangerous Zai on Temple Street. Stephen Zhou rekindled his ambition. In order to improve his cooking skills, he went to Shilin Temple to learn his skills and stumbled into the kitchen of one of the thirty-six rooms of Shaolin Temple. However, he learned a unique cooking skill and regained the position of God of Cookery.
