Underrated movie

I just wanted to find a De Niro movie casually. It didn't take long for the movie to find out how even the gangsters are all in the Armani men's suit hahaha, I guess this movie is definitely extraordinary.

The young Kevin's acting skills are still a bit young (although not very good), but it does not hinder the narrative of this kind of film.

Connery’s 007 series have not been seen. In this movie, he played the role of a mentor, helping to inspire Nas, an agent who has just experienced frustration, step by step.

De Niro didn't play much, but a few words revealed the arrogance of a gang boss.

Morricone's soundtrack is also exciting and full of passion.

But the biggest highlight of the film is Parma’s shots,

Several long shots are very distinctive and pave the way for the plot, always making the movie one after another.

It also has a certain perspective in terms of perspective, which is rare in movies in the 1980s.

Focusing on the close-up of Nas’s face, but also taking in the anxious and sad Malone behind

Such a lens is full of information, and not only can the language of the character express the image of the character and the inner struggle, it shows the carefulness of the shooting. This technique was also used incisively and vividly in the later "The Hateful Eight".

In fact, the scene that attracted me the most was the first-person long shot that lasted for a few minutes. It was thrilling. I never thought that this was a 1987 movie. In that era when the shooting technique was slightly monotonous, it really made my eyes shine.

After all, I watched one less old movie of this kind, and I became numb to a certain extent after the filming, so I am very happy to be able to see this kind of movie.

George Stone: To protect the property and citizenry of...

Malone: Ah, don't waste my time with that bullshit. Where you from, Stone?

George Stone: I'm from the south-side.

Malone: Stone. George Stone. That's your name? What's your real name?

George Stone: That is my real name.

Malone: Nah. What was it before you changed it?

    George Stone: Giuseppe Petri.

Malone: Ah, I knew it. That's all you need, one thieving wop on the team.

George Stone: Hey, what's that you say?

Malone: I said that you're a lying member of a no good race.

George Stone: [He cuffs Stone across the face. As he draws back his arm again, Stone presses a gun under his chin] Much better than you, you stinking Irish shit pig.

    Malone: Oh, I like him.

Ness: [Ness looking a bit nervous and Malone smiling at Stone] Yeah I like him too.

  • Reporter: [interviewing Capone while a barber shaves him] And what of your reputation for violence? That those who don't buy your product are dealt with violently?

Capone: [pulls his face away from the razor, sees that he's bleeding slightly, the barber looks horrified] S'alright. I grew up in a tough neighborhood and we used to say "You can get further with a kind word and a gun than you can with just a kind word."
