Mara's Tragedy

The name of the movie is a beautiful cup of poison. I have seen a lot of movies about war and love, but there are few such movies that make me sigh and heartache. Blue Bridge of Soul Broken is such a movie, a love tragedy in war.
It reminds me of the beautiful legends of Sicily, they are similar in subject matter, stories in the same context of war, but with very different themes. If the beauty of a woman is a sin, it is also a favor given by God. God loves a person too much to give her beauty and talent at the same time, as well as fatal attraction. This is the charm of Vivien Leigh. The first time I saw her in Gone with the Wind, I thought she was that sly and charming Hao Scarlett, full of incredible vitality. Vivien Leigh was born to perform, her raised eyebrows, her ever-changing expressions, and her smart eyes seemed to be forever flashing with an unpredictable desire, but she was born to shine on this stage, and she has changed since then. She is so dazzling that people marvel at her.
This desire is still visible even in the Soul Broken Blue Bridge, turning into a kind of pity for weakness. When she laughs, she is like a happy angel. When she is sad, her eyes are not sad or deserted, but a kind of distressing loneliness. Once, she was leaning outside the church door waiting for the pastor's reply to her and Roy's wedding that day. Her moving eyes were shining, and she was distressed and delicate, and she was so understanding to the pastor's refusal. She is so weak yet so alive, she looks at you kindly yet so pessimistic, she is contradictory. So Roy didn't understand why there seemed to be a surrender to life hidden under her youthful appearance, like a clove after the rain, fragrant and fragile.
And Roy, he was born so optimistic, strong and decisive, he could have taken good care of this delicate villain in front of him, but the casualty list in the war played a joke on them, which was fatal to Mara the blow. It's because she wasn't strong and calm enough or she was trapped too deeply. In short, she was powerless. She thought her love was dead, and then her life began to die.
The night she came to Waterloo Bridge again, where she met for the first time, the night was miserable. Step by step, she walked into the abyss of her soul, abandoning all awareness of the world. She began to degenerate, and in order not to let her friend Kitty bear the oppression of life alone, she also fell into the dust. But her love for Roy is indeed steadfast, and like her essence, she cannot tolerate a trace of taint and betrayal. So when the truth came, she had collapsed. Facing Roy's care and the family's trust, she gradually went to a dead end. Poor Roy, she couldn't help but wonder if Roy would forgive her if she told Roy the truth, maybe she would, but it was also cruel, she thought she would never be able to return to Roy, so she chose to go to The end of life leaves a permanent regret.
The movie is full of dramatic shifts and rhythms, with Marla and Roy meeting in the war, they're going through a lot of hardships, the date at the Candlelight Music Restaurant and Roy's proposal in the rain, the most romantic, the love in the war Surprises spread everywhere. However, because of the misunderstanding of the war casualty list, Mara thought that Roy was killed in battle and was in despair, and was finally forced to fall into the dust. Afterwards, Roy returned safely, but Mara chose to commit suicide because she could not face Roy who treated her sincerely, and her soul was broken. Waterloo Bridge. A few years later, the old Roy came to the place where they met for the first time, leaving only the lucky charm that Mara gave him, and could only fall into deep memories and nostalgia again.
The film uses flashbacks and uses montage in a regular manner. In the last scene, when Mara hurries towards the moving car at the bridge head, the camera quickly switches in front of her face and the headlights. The last shrill whistle, Mara ordered Mourning Yellow Springs. Can not help but sigh.
Soul Broken Blue Bridge may not be the best movie played by Vivien Leigh, and Robert Taylor's performance is also remarkable, but it is a movie that the hero and heroine themselves cannot forget, because of its rendering of love, incomplete regret, Impressive.
At the end of the movie, the end of the song is the separation of joys and sorrows. The love of Mara and Roy is also accompanied by that handed down music, a piece of friendship that lasts forever, leaving the audience deeply moved and sighed, which will never be forgotten for a long time.
