not in memory

I decided to read Brest Fortress because of a book. Twenty years ago, when I was a high school student, I stole my father's reading card and went to the provincial library to borrow books during the summer vacation. The "Unlisted" of the Battle of Brest Fortress is a very impressive one, so I still remember it now. I thought this movie viewing would be a revisit of my memory, but the plot of the movie had nothing to do with the novels I had read, which made me feel very lost 20 minutes into the movie. Although disappointing, but at the end of the movie, I feel that this movie is still worth watching.
The memory at the beginning of the film gives people a dreamlike tranquility and peace. As the film progresses, we see the fortress collapsed in the smoke of gunpowder, the flames fly into the sky, the flesh and blood splatter, and the corpses are scattered all over the place. The cruelty of war is in plain sight before us. No amount of stubborn resistance can withstand the tracks of an armored tank. The inhabitants of the fortress, who were hiding underground at the same time as the warriors, could not escape the flamethrowers. An isolated city that has been neglected by its superiors is simply unable to carry huge casualties. Anyone is so pitiful and helpless in front of the war machine.
A good film needs good characters. The film does a great job of portraying everyone in the fortress. A fat lieutenant who can dance boots, with a pair of prominent goldfish eyes, simple and honest in appearance but careful in mind, he was the one who tactfully identified the infiltrating German spy, and finally died heroically. The four German corpses in the picture reflect his bravery. The young and shy projectionist has a crush on the store clerk, and their love has just bloomed when it is interrupted by the instantaneous artillery fire. The two were trapped in the club occupied by the Germans. The projectionist took the opportunity to escape from the club, but witnessed his girlfriend being dragged back to the club by the Germans and could not do anything. When the projectionist was captured again and brought into the club, he saw his girlfriend's cold body. Resolutely pulled the grenade insurance, perished with the German army, and slept with his girlfriend. There are also Lieutenant Andre, who kept organizing counterattacks while thinking about the safety of his daughter, Vanya and his wife who refused to be captured and committed suicide by themselves, and Fuming, the political commissar who kept sending reports after failing to visit relatives. , we are still fighting." From Red Army soldiers to officers' families, everyone's performance was remarkable.
