I wish I had heaven's embroidered cloth with gold and silver light Those blue, gray and black cloths are light or dark I'll spread the cloth under your feet But poor I have only dreams I've spread my dreams under your feet Take it easy because that's my dream All mankind is a book When a man dies It's not a chapter torn from the book but translated into a better language Every chapter must be so translated God has hired a few Famous translators Some articles are translated by age Some by disease

Reminds me of the time when I was reading original books in the library in my freshman year. I know very well that this way of life in the cloud who sends brocade books is no longer acceptable in the world, and now who will read letters softly, like the whispers of lovers. "If you happen to pass by 84 Charing Cross, please give me a kiss, I owe it a lot..."

The title of the film at the beginning was translated into "Blood Shadow", which made me think I bought the wrong film.

  • Frank P. Doel: [reading "He wishes for the Cloths of Heaven" by William Butler Yeats] "Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths, Enwrought with golden and silver light, The blue and the dim and the dark cloths, Of night and light and the half light, I would spread the cloths under your feet: But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams."

  • Helene Hanff: Somebody gave me this book for Christmas. It's "A Great Modern Library" book. Ever seen one of those? It's less attractively bound than the "Proceedings of the New York State Assembly" and it weighs more. It was a given to me by a gent who knows I'm fond of John Donne. The title of this book is: "The Complete Poetry and Selected Prose of John Donne *and* the Complete Poetry of William Blake"? The question mark is mine. Will you please tell me what those two boys have in common except - they were both English and they both wrote.
