This is the second time for me to watch the movie. The first time , I was distracted by the coronavirus so I can't fully understand who Bill really is .To be honest, before I get started, the only thing I know about Bill is that he was the founder of Microsoft and he is pretty rich, he and his wife fund the largest fundation for tax avoidance as one book said. But if you look more closely, you will find out what Bill has accomplished is far more beyond these . He dedicated himself to pursue the solutions to some of the world's most complex problems after being retired from Microsoft. What really suprised me is Bill doesn't like the other billionaires who donate money to the fundation but don't do anything, Bill is the only one who wants to be fully engaged and work out solutions for the challenges. He has a sense of values that all the children in the world can be treated equally.
There are three episodes of the movie, and each of the episode including one project that Bill is trying to launch , and his personal life, his relationship with his familly , his own ups and downs in Microsoft go through it . However, none of them are going well.
Toilet, promising but expensive.
Polio, cost billions of dollars but cases in the year are up
Terra power, deal with China just blew up because of the trade war
As a business man with tremendous success, maybe It's better for him to give up. But when confronted something difficult ,he always give the same answer, worker harder. It's really to be impressed by someone who wants to change the world, someone who won 't quit, someone with a brain like Bill's. But you are still wondering that will he solve these problems, considering he is over 60 years old, and he's got the same 24 hours in a day that the rest of us have, time is the one commodity he can't buy more. Ultimately, It's not whay you get or even what you give, it's what you become that will define your success.
Quote from the wall of Bill's study :" he come a long way to the blue lawn, and his dream must have seemed so close that he could hardly to fail to grasp it "
