The film recounts how she quickly rose to fame on the international music scene, but her fame hurts her and those she loves. Jacqueline Dupree (Emily Watson) is one of the greatest musical prodigies of the 20th century, dazzling audiences around the world with her fiery, uninhibited music. Hilary (Rachel Griffith) is married and has a family, and Jackie has been on tour for many years with her pianist and conductor husband, Daniel Byron Bohm. Although the couple was treated with courtesy wherever they went, the long-term travels took a toll on Jackie's body and mind.
She yearned for the simple life of Hillary. One day, Jackie suddenly shows up at Hillary's house. Lonely and desperate, she made an unexpected request to her own sister, hoping to share her husband... "
Crazy Cello Love" is the debut feature of documentary director Annan Tucker. Blending truth and art, Tucker examines the dark side of genius with a bold and provocative approach.
Tucker and two producers, Andy Paterson and Nicholas Kent, were fans of Dupree. They were intrigued when they heard that Hillary and her brother, Pierce Dupre, were planning to write a book about Jacqueline's embarrassing, even shocking life, in their own opinion. From the very beginning, the director and the two producers clearly told Dupree's relatives that the film was adapted from a biography. (Cello Crazy) is inspired by Dupree's story, but it's not a complete reenactment of Dupree's life, nor is it a documentary. Tucker explains: "Once you turn it on, you're making a subjective decision. We certainly pay homage to Jackie's spirit. , but we will also use our own perspective to let everyone know what it is like to be Jackie and what it is like to be Hillary."
