Watched three episodes and rushed to give five stars
If you're interested in the ERA's history of the feminist movement / Like political lobbying Inter-partisan and (more) intra-partisan jockeying for media roles / Just going for Cate Blanchett and American vintage tones and kimonos don't make this wave deficit
(The following is just a long personal thought (.))
In the beginning, it was only because of the interest in the history of the ERA, why the self-proclaimed freedom and equality of the United States had struggled for so long through such a seemingly natural amendment; I can't figure it out, plus a character like Kate the Devil is actually acting, so I click it
e1 I was dumbfounded. Phyllis is so smart and beautiful. What's wrong with the goose...? What kind of position is this...? Then I went to pick up this historical figure in shock. I was completely shocked and understood the background of hulu's position. I explained it well.
Continuing to watch e2 and it still doesn't feel like there is a clear side but the conservatives have the upper hand obviously (his history too) or Phyllis is too capable and too provocative. The ending of e1 gave me a bummer.. she knows the silent majority The terrible power of knowing your strengths and making good use of your resources "From the bread maker to the bread winner" really don't get any smarter..
Gloria is also a smart and beautiful person with passion, faith, ability and charm! The teary-eyed girl who once went to an abortion alone is now free to tiptoe dancing she do what she wants with her own life and sincerely wants all women to have this right.
While feminist groups' visceral contempt for housewives is driving them back, Phyllis is the more shrewd and sober one. She knows how to win an election over, winning votes, getting the majority delegates She is full of contradictions.. She is a conservative anti-feminist who strives to maintain the American (perhaps the world) traditional family model of male lead outside female lead inside, which is What she considers the basics of social stability; she is also unquestionably a brilliant and excellent female activist. She was conflicted - she justified it.
Does this show really make me think deeply that everything we take for granted is right just because we grew up somewhere in a certain environment? We are blown away by the incredible approval ratings of Trump and the idiots that he was elected to. Chin - but behind him is the one who really has a huge following who just thought they were ignorant and incited and maybe we were just people in a very different environment - if their choices were truly heartfelt and ingrained in them reasonable.
Are we fighting for rights or are we getting some kind of illusion of equality under absolute power? Do we really have the right to choose? Are the choices we make really of free will?
It's really cool to focus on a character in each episode! Everyone is different but they all shine
