"White Elephant" is an impressive film, the film has more Thai culture and religion, but also full of humanitarian care. The core of the plot lies not in the excitement of the fight, but in the dialogue between May and the protagonist Cody-Che Qi. Che Qi used violence to fight violence and killed the underworld members who bought and sold girls, but under Mei Shanxin's guidance, he was eventually led to understanding. As mentioned at the end of the film, the darkness he brought, merged with the light that Mei gave, and became the enlightenment of the monks. The reason for his killing was "Because they are hurting people". In the end, he exchanged money for those girls for freedom through peaceful means. The friendship between him and May is particularly moving. Regrettably, most Chinese people do not understand abstract moral concepts and do not have a humanitarian spirit. This film is very exciting and in-depth, but to understand it, you need to have a deeper cultural connotation. If you don't understand Buddhism and humanitarianism, you won't be able to understand this film.
