Young is good

Profound means more pain and less likable. In our age, profundity is a disgusting thing. What is really likable is to pretend to be profound, that is, things and speeches that "look very profound" ——This opening sentence can probably summarize the movie. The seemingly witty talk, coupled with the irony that the West has always used, and a touch of vanilla-flavored warmth, all the essence is here. Young people are always accustomed to raising eyebrows in life, while old people are insensitive and accustomed to sneer. What else can we do? In any case, even if we succeed, we still cannot change that we are all vulgar.

Cynthia McLean: That's good, isn't it?

Charlie Black: Well, I'm not talking about what's good or bad. I'm just making an observation of fact.

Sally Fowler: Well, I think it IS good. I can't stand snobbery or snobbish attitudes of any kind.

  • Cynthia McLean: Is our language so impoverished that we have to use acronyms of French phrases to make ourselves understood?

    Charlie Black: Yes.
