Small blue flowers blooming in the Koran

Once again, I was overwhelmed by the lightness of French films, and was overwhelmed by the French director's exquisite, delicate, concise, and just right, not as good as the ability of the trace to point to the hearts of the people. This is an almost perfect movie. If it weren't for the ending a little bit deliberately, I would have scored full marks. The flaws are not concealed, whether it is the color, the lens, the music, the performance, the story, they are all excellent.

"Monsieur Ibrahim", "Mr. Ibrahim", is a story about an old Persian Islamic man who runs a grocery store and a young boy of Jewish descent. Street, Blue Street. There are many prostitutes on the street, and this sixteen-year-old boy’s first sexual experience was done for him by a prostitute on the street. Of course, he had to pay. The movie started like this. Every day he went to the old man's grocery store to buy food and prepare dinner, and he shared the dinner with his father who had returned home after a hard day. The mother, who had never met, approached the boy's father after committing suicide, but he did not recognize him. The conversation between the old man and him began when he discovered that the old man had always known that he had stolen cans from the store, but he had not pointed it out. "Remember, you don't owe me anything. I hope you have been stealing in my store instead of stealing elsewhere." Starting from this sentence, the old man slowly taught the little boy his own perception of life and understanding of religion, and gradually poured openness and care into his heart, so that he learned to smile and learn to love life. Until the old man passed everything he had, including the grocery store, to the little boy, he left the world peacefully.

The little boy is lucky. When he doesn’t understand the Koran or what Sophieism is, the old man said, “It’s okay to communicate with people and talk. It’s the best way to learn.” When he fell in love, the old man said Saying "It doesn't matter, your love for her will always belong to you, even if she refuses it, it will not change. She just has no luck. What you pay will always belong to you, and what you have will not disappear." The old man drove with him. He went all the way to Turkey, took him to churches of different religions, let him smell with his nose, and perceive different religions with his heart, let him understand the spinning dance of Arab religions, just like the prayers of Judaism, you can empty your mind and fly. He became an angel, so that a boy who loves to steal things finally gave the precious camera in his hand to the Turkish kid on the side of the road.

The huge amount of information was cleverly placed in the corners of the film by the director, with his head down and occasionally picked up, a little bit of essence, no preaching, and some just warm, moving and tolerant.
"As long as there is love, you can discover beauty"
"Although Lanjie is poor, it is not blue, but I love Lanjie." The little boy opened the Koran that the old man had left him, and there were two beautiful blue flowers between the yellowed pages.

Monsieur Ibrahim quotes

  • Monsieur Ibrahim: To find out if a country is rich or poor, look at the bins. If there are bins and no rubbish, it's rich. If there's rubbish by the bins, it's neither rich nor poor... it's touristy. And if there's rubbish but no bins, then it's poor.

  • Monsieur Ibrahim: A man's heart is like a caged bird. When you dance, your heart sings... and then rises to heaven.
